I saw a video which showed an interesting study. An A.I. robot was trained to never hurt humans, and only to do work. But the robot's masters started intentionally abusing it and preventing it from efficiently doing its job. At one point they hit the robot hard and knocked it down and when it got back up it hit one of the humans. Since the robot has no "self-defense" programming it seems logical to assume that the robot was making a conscious decision to fight back.
