I did what you laid out exactly. Works perfectly and haven't had any overheating problems since. Thanks man.

Good info video. However, when I did mine, I spliced it in so when I turn the key off, the fan will go off too. Again, Good info for the masses.

Cant I just splice those two wires together, so fan turns on with machine? Also, it sure would be awsome if there were a replacement r1 that just allows the fan to run full time anytime ignition is turned on.

Awesome vid, would this procedure work on a 15 outty 500?

No, only time we overheated was in Halliburton back in May with 07 Renegade. Just don't want that to happen again.

I got a 2020xxc renegade and I don't have this issue she gets warm but don't over heat guess the fixed the issue mine runs great been ran on 90 plus degree days run cooler than 700 I had tons of over heating on Kawasaki

I did this on my Gen 1 but I'll be getting my ECM programmed on my Gen 2 to set the fan for a lower activation temperature. Canam needs to fix the air fuel ratio on these bikes.... they run way too hot. I can't ride 5 minutes around my acreage without the fan going on.

If you see this .. could you take a picture of the position of those two wires going into the back of the fuse block? Mine got knocked out of the fuse block when someone tried putting the fan relay in the wrong way….

hello friend I have a question related to that what happens in my 2007 when renegade 800 is heated and the fan comes into operation and is not cut direct not know if that has to do with bad or swollen radiator thermostats
@nombr4 жыл бұрын
My bike likes to go in limp mode on slow rides. I knocked my two wires from relay to 20 a and metered then at 12v I think hooked up my jumper and got nothing...does this mean my fan is a goner?
@FrankiesChannel4 жыл бұрын
Best way to know for sure is to measure voltage at the plug that goes directly into fan. If you get 12v then most likely fan is gone. You can also try using jumper cables and apply 12v directly to fan. That's another way to bypass everything.
@nombr4 жыл бұрын
Frankie's Channel Thanks Frankie, I have 12v at the two wires and I put a battery to the fan directly with nothing...would you go with a can am replacement or aftermarket?
@FrankiesChannel4 жыл бұрын
@@nombr Yup sounds like it's done. I couldn't find aftermarket fan replacement for the G2 Can Ams. If you find aftermarket, let me know. Can am wants around $200.
@nombr4 жыл бұрын
Frankie's Channel turns out what I was looking at is for the older can ams. I ended up ordering from our local deal 292 CAD :( Is it a pretty big pain to change out? I have a rad relocate on order as well, I was thinking of waiting till that comes in to put the new fan but I really want to ride in the mean time haha

What's wrong with the stock fan setting? I've done this before but only when absolutely necessary
@FrankiesChannel7 жыл бұрын
The stock setting is set a little high, but that's not the main reason why we do the bypass. It's more about having control and testing the fan when you need it. It's really convenient.

so I've got a question I wired my fan from the fan relay to the fan fuse like shown it worked for several years and all of a sudden it stopped working so I rewired to the main relay power to the fan fuse works fine now but I'm wondering if there might be any problems with this
@FrankiesChannel7 жыл бұрын
Yes be careful if the fan relay stopped working then that might mean your fan may not come on automatically when engine gets hot. Best way to test if temperature sensor can automatically run the fan is to locate the temperature sensor on top of the left cylinder head. Right side of machine is throttle side. You want the left side. Then just pull the plug off the sensor. Your machine will go into limp mode and fan should start immediately. If fan doesn't not run, then check fan fuse or maybe replace the fan relay. You can unplug fan relay and swap it with main relay temporarily just to see if the relay is the problem. Give that a go and let me know if you need more help. Good luck.
@Legoinry7 жыл бұрын
thanks ya I'll trouble shoot tomorrow. bit as far as leaving the fan bypass switch wired to the main fuse power is that OK or could that raise problems
@FrankiesChannel7 жыл бұрын
Only problem that I can see is the main relay is fused at 30amps and If I remember correctly fan relay is 15amp. So if there should be a problem with your fan motor. It can overheat the wire going to the fan. If you want to leave it like this then just put a inline fuse between main relay and fan. It will work with no other issues.
@Legoinry7 жыл бұрын
I have a 2011 renagade looked looked at the relays they are both 30amp and I tried your test just now and the fan did not come on but I switched the relays and still nothing when the sensor connector is pulled wonder if my sensor is bad or if there is no power getting to the relay for some reason
@FrankiesChannel7 жыл бұрын
It sounds like no power getting to the relay. Do you have a test light or multimeter. Check to see if you have power on any of the 4 terminals the relay plugs into.
