I want to thank you. My wife and I were trying to figure out what type of “ toy “ to purchase. We looked at campers, quads, watercraft etc for about two yrs and could not make up our mind on what was best for us…. Then I came across this video you made (we are in WA state) and the choice was clear. We went to our local can am dealer and after little debate purchased a 2012 rts for Christmas in December 2020. It has now been 1 year (December 2021) and we just passed the 12,000 mile mark. We ride constantly and owe our decision to you! Thank you! Best purchase ever!

Looks like a great time and the view at 18:52 is worth the whole ride. I am saving my penny's to buy a Spyder RT, should have enough by July 2022 or so.

Tom Shepard, that’s pretty much what I did, I looked for almost a year after I decided I wanted one. I found this 2014 RT (the first year of the 1330 motor) which was 4yrs old with 4400 miles for exactly half of what a new one cost. With the new model RT that came out this year the used price for 14-19 models might be drifting down.

@@ItsYoursOWNIT we had planned a trip for June to go up to northern Michigan but it looks like that might have to be put on hold. I will retire for good in about 4 years and if all goes well we are going to ride out to that area. We live in Richmond VA.

I have that same Spyder. I want so badly to do some touring like that, but unfortunately due to health issues I rarely get to ride it, and any kind of touring (which is what it was made for) are out of the question, but I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed (thru KZbin), riding along with you and your lady. Keep on riding as long as you can.

I thoroughly enjoy your videos and commentary. I have one question... Where did you get that RAM ball mount that's on your dash? That seems like the perfect alternative to mounting everything on the handlebars.

It’s amazing that you don’t seem to have any bug strikes on your windshield or front end. How did you avoid that?

Jeffrey Sims, I get my share of bugs. I carry glass wipes and a small can of Plexus with me and try to keep the windshield clean, especially when I am doing videos.

How'd the Spyder handle the hills

Kurt Firestone, really well, the only issue I had was holding the speed limit (80 mph) on the interstate, going uphill or against strong headwinds. At normal speeds I have no complaints. To remedy this, I installed a cat delete and got an ECM tune this winter. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a camping trip in this summer to test the upgrades.
