The Giannis disrespect never ceases to amaze me. It's as if he's not doing this with an improved midrange still scoring 60% of his field goals AND playing MVP level defense 😅 What more does he need to do, average 3 more assists for any of that to matter? FOH

He plays with dame,who he can depend on for 20-30 points any given night,Murray has been ass since the 2023 finals.Not to mention giannis plays in an infinitely easier conference that has 2 elite teams and rest are average.Also all of giannis problems are of his own making,firing coaches willy nilly,signing his bum brother,giving away jrue.Joker makes his teammates better,giannis does not

Yeah an improved midrange... 4 fga per game... Shooting career 5th lowest from 3-10 ft at 35%.......... Shooting career worst 60% from ft range........ With worse defense than his last 2 szns.. And having way less of an impact on his teammates The net rating when he is on the court is is 0.31 this szn ffs they are 0.74 with him off!!! He's clear 2nd place

so boston won 64 last season and didnt get the mvp. so it means 1 thing: stats matter more than winning if the mvp would possibly come from the team that wins the most but doesnt play superstar/heliocentric ball.

@jackirerioa4971 i doubt they win 55. Tatum does much, much more than you think. Hes the engine that stirs the drink so to speak. Still, even so, this emphasizes the point i was trying to make. People who say winning matters more for mvp are lying. Its the stats. If this was really about winning, best player on the best team gets it every year. And just to get into the stats, tatum had the highest on/off rating for the celtics and highest adjusted +/- in the league. its clear how their performance plummets when hes off the floor vs. when he's on. But nope. MVP debates now are about how good you are at racking up triple doubles.

@TheRobversion1 oh please I'm one of the highest people on tatum you will find, comparing him to Jokic in terms of play and impact is ludicrous, he also plays in a far weaker conference and for thr same reason kd nor steph won mvp on the warriors the celtics as a team is far too stacked to give tatum am mvp when Jokic and others who are simply better exists And MVP is not the "best player on best team" award, it's the "Most Valuable Player" award You simply want more credit for tatum and that's fine, he's not winning nor deserving of the MVP compared to players caryying a bigger load and playing better Also the just blatant strawman of " it's about how good you are at racking up triple doubles" you sound just as insane as perkins when he called Jokic a statpadder in 23 when btw Nuggets were smth insane like 27-2 when he had a triple double "statpadding wins" more like and over his career win like 80% of the games where he has a triple double So yeah I guess the MVP is about racking up a stat that equates to an 80% winrate

@jackirerioa4971 seems to me that statement is not true. Are you a celtic fan then? I am not comparing him to jokic. Jokic is clearly the better player. What i was saying that on the celtics, hes the most valuable. And if winning really has the highest weight, then tatum wouldve won as hes the most valuable player on the winningest team. And yes, in the past, MVP is the best player on the best team award. Or at least on one of the top 3 teams in the conference. It stopped being that way in the 2010s in the westbrook/harden years. And thats why i'm pointing out the fallacy of the statement that "winning is most valuable." If it really was, the 1st gatekeeper would be are you the player on the team with the most wins? If yes, are you the most valuable player on that team? So again, i'm not comparing him to jokic. I am comparing him to someone like jaylen brown, derrick white, etc. i've already eliminated all the other non-celtic candidates for not being on the team with the most wins. Whats actually true now, is people get the top players stat wise then when its time to split hairs, winning comes into account as a tiebreaker. Thus, winning is not whats most valuable but its the stats the player produces. The celtics could have a 3-peat and tatum would never win. Nor any celtic. Why? because its not winning that matters the most. Its the stats. Even if the celtics pull off a 70+ win season. I wouldnt call jokic a statpadder. What he does leads to winning. Hes not trae young or joel embiid. So again, before resorting to insults, try to comprehend what i'm trying to say.

None of these conversations matter nor does this NBA season. Tatum will average a calm 28 8 and 6, win 60 plus games, never really be challenged on his way to a chip while everyone makes excuses and pops their head out of the woodwork whenever the Celtics lose a game (once a month). He wont be seriously considered in these discussions tho. Oh well guess he’ll settle for another EASY chip

@@SamuelBlackMetalRider so by that logic because he has good teammates he’s INELIGIBLE for MVP😂 when has its ever been that? The MVP can only go to players with shitty teammates? Maybe Derrick white and Porzingis and JB and Jrue all feast off the double teams that JT draws? And they’re defensive versatile is made possible by a 6’9 wing who can switch and defend all 5 positions. Define most valuable because of you watch him play he creates as much of an impact on the court as any player in the league. Just barring him from awards because everybody petty and salty the team and player they spent years shitting on are thriving and getting whatever they want on a nightly basis

@ he is just not as good as Jokic. Period. No one is. I don’t care what team Tatum is on TBH. I’ve got no beef with the Celtics. They are a great team looking like a dynasty potentially. But Jokic is just putting Legendary stats. Tatum isn’t.

Shai's numbers are better and their both carrying their teams through major injuries. That said, before the last two weeks or so, I had Tatum #1. Giannis and Jokic have been great statistically, but their win totals aren't good enough.

I have not see why these are MVP front runners. The sun 9&2 with kd and Cleveland have best record in nba. But no one from those teams or front runners.. nba fans trying these madness that’s why ratings is bad.
