Nick Bostrom and NDTV wasn't the type of crossover I expected, but I guess I'll take it 😅 though i do feel the quality of questions could have been better, given the kind of rich knowledge Nick has on the technological and social changes which will emerge from rise of AIs. I do not think people really grasp the implications of building something which is just a different kind of intelligence ("shoggothesque") which might also turn out to be smarter than us in near future (a decade or so). Maybe it is also the fault of people that work in AI/alignment work, who were unable to communicate the gravity of the issue. Though probably evem within the community, not many people understood its implications, or that just maybe society isn't really ready for it.. Lets just hope we just fall on the right side of the beam eventually 😅🙈

Too much of anything is good for nothing. All Software industries considering AI for competition.Many said when calculator was invented your maths knowledge is stopped but all went further. But presently Mobile addiction and other APPs addiction going beyond limits. this unknown AI or any illegal AI may create more disruption. AI to be kept like a ATOM BOMB only, Though invented keep it highly restricted & use only when it's the only solution Or else we may go destroyed. Don't Blame each other after 2050. Let's wait for it.

I can just imagine what the authorities at Oxford said to justify shutting down Nick Bostrom's phony "institute": "Dr. Bostrom, we believe that the purpose of science is to serve mankind. You, however, seem to regard science as some kind of dodge or hustle. Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe. Your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable. You are a poor scientist, Dr. Bostrom."
