And it's not entirely unwarranted, but more importantly (to him) he believes they are a threat to Naruto which is the most important figure in Kawaki's life at this point. Boruto has proven he can't control Momoshiki at all times, so in Kawaki's mind the best scenario for everyone, logically even if most don't agree with it is to have Boruto killed. But because everyone is so emotonially attached to Boruto by virtue of being Naruto's kid (And even Boruto's own merits). That lead into the premise of Kawaki inadvertently causing Omnipotence to happen through Ada. Now he's capitalizing on the switch that everyone that use to trust Boruto now views him in that light, and everyone that distrusted him will now distrust Boruto making it easier to hunt down and kill than it would be normally.

Boruto up to this point has made it clear that his number one goal atm is to dispose of the shinju. I don't think he'll try to fight kawaki atm because as he said to mitsuki, if he's stronger than kawaki then a battle is pointless. I do however believe that he'll try to reason with kawaki "talk no jutsu" to join him in defeating the shinju like when he asked code. This is because he's had first hand experience with them and he's clearly outnumbered, as well as the fact that both him and kawaki were their initial targets. A temporary truce perhaps until the current threat is eliminated. I'll take it a step further and say that knowing kawaki he'll probably decline, however Sarada and Mitsuki may decide to join, noting sarada was also going in the direction of hidari and jura. Also sarada would benefit by saving her dad and mitsuki would get to understand his Sun a bit more.

i do personally believe we should draw some parallels from minato to boruto, its a very similar story in that we all believe in boruto but like minato and the full force of the nine tails, boruto may get put in a few situations that make him appear to if not outright fail in some aspects of what hes trying to accomplish, minato had the kurama attack almost completely covered simply by operation carefully the way he does being observant and leaving opening for himself to escape from multiple bad scenarios, and in the biger picture minato did succeed but from other angles one could say well he still died, he couldnt save kushina and naruto was put in some messed up life threatening positions in his life as result, my point is to expect things to not necessarily go borutos way, expect him to adapt and the means by which he adapts and his enemies react will probably lead to him winning or at least freeing naruto but i think it will most definitely happen in a way unexpected,

His whole plan was basically to make himself come across as the worst threat to tbe world, and maintain that threat perpetually so that people would remain united in fear of him (similar to how they united against "Madara";). He DID want to be alone, but not by killing everyone else. Lol. His whole idea was to create peace by sacrificing his own life to the cause, painting himself as the ultimate bad guy, like Itachi did. And yeah, he wanted Naruto out of the way as he was the only one he believed was both capable of stopping him, and could never be reasoned with (Naruro wouldn't allow Sasuke to do that to himself, he would just keep coming after him, meaning Sasuke's plan would only work if he was gone).

A quick observation: Boruto has no intent to kill either kawaki or Delta. He probably only will dodge and maybe land a few punches to knock some sense into Kawaki. For Kawaki the stakes are different: he failed multiple times to kill Boruto. If Boruto were to give him a beatdown he would want to become stronger..And i can bet its not via legal training. This will lead to him going to Amado for karma power up or even further ototsukify process. And thats gonna be his reason to erase all shinobi, who are destined to die. Ending up as Kawaki like we saw him in Episode 1. You know the saying where some people end up becoming what they feared the most. Thats Kawakis faith
