@@RockyTheThird yes, they were going to add the mechanic, but it got removed. But, you can still find it in the games files. The gliders would’ve been Meta Knight, Pit, Dark Pit, Charizard, and Ridley. However, Ridley’s animation was never done, so if you imput the code for gliding, Ridley will just T-pose through the air.

Ridley also has it because he was built off of Charizard's base. Like Hero, Banjo, etc. having had used another character to work off of, same story for Dark Pit. Ridley's never having been animated shows the disregarded purpose of having included the glides in the first place. Things like that aren't uncommon, Wolf used to be when he grabbed a item would revert back to his brawl idle animation in ultimate. If I also remember correctly, Diddy Kong has some animations unused in brawl that are still present in ultimate. Better cases are made for stuff like the DK Bongo's that had been updated in ultimate but left unused.

Meta Knight is still viable, although much weaker than even his Sm4sh incarnation. His main weaknesses are that he gets lapped by the other characters above him in the tier list solely because they have an easier time taking stocks than him, and damaging more reliably. He is still a gimping machine off stage, and still has his ladder and bridge combos, and in general, is one of the better characters out there in this giant game. His lack of representation sucks, though.

Overall, he’s a “spacie swordie” with decent 0-to-death routes, but struggles to keep up with the meta that high level Smash adopts now. Bonk and Abadango are still godlike with this character, don’t get it twisted.

Actually I doubt it because shuttle loop sends horizontally instead of vertically in Brawl. He may still be able to finish you off the top with tornado but it's hard to say. Although, he could still DEFINITELY get bridge combos and kill off the side in a manner that would probably be very reminiscent of Smash 4 Bayonetta... on steroids.

At least Ultimate took steps to remedy this and gave him more stuff to work with, and they also somehow improved his horrid Sm4sh redesign. Still doesn't feel like he has quite fully recovered yet, but at least he's in a better state than Meta Knight is. At least they gave him Dark Meta Knight and Galacta Knight alts, which are awesome, but that's only aesthetics. Gameplay-wise he's kind of mundane.
