Unselfish floor generals always get turnovers. A Pointguard who doesn't get turnovers probably doesn't pass much or already has great players that catch those passes. Yes and no... I think we all agree that CP3 is one of the best pure PG in the history of the NBA. He averages 9.4 APG but only 2.4 TO for his career. Or look at Haliburton since he joined the Pacers. 10.5 APG but only 2.5 TO. Would you call them selfish, cause they have low TO numbers? It all comes down to playstyle. Those 2 play a different style then CC, or Luka, or Young, or even Westbrook/Harden. Its less ball dominant, less risky, less drives, more classical passes to a player 1 pass away, or to a big near the rim. You dont see CP3 throw passes from the right wing to the left corner over the heads of 4 opponents for an open corner 3. Luka does that several times in basically every game. Not to mention that people like CP3/Haliburton, even Nash (11 APG - 3.5 TO in his Phoenix prime) never were as agressive trying to score. Cause a lot of their turnover come while trying to score, not from passes being stolen. So yeah, modern day scoring PG's who are also top playmakers have higher TO numbers then classical floor generals. But that doesnt mean that CP3, Haliburton, Nash and so on are not unselfish... they just have a saver playstyle because they dont drive or play 1on1 as much as the "newer style" PG versions and also throw less risky passes.

CC is #2 according to Vegas oddsmakers I put more weight on them, they actually put their own money where their mouth is. The whole RotY was a distraction to keep CC out of the talk for MVP. CC hasn't just improved HER team, she has improved the whole league similar to Jordan. Everyone is having to try to step up their game to defend her which is also the Jordan effect. Rodman's had a come to jesus meeting with Laimbeer and Isiah, and was told he had to play contribute more then just rebounds, so they made him become a defensive stopper. Which was their weapon against Jordan (he was tasked with holding Jordan to under 20 pts.) he had to learn to play defense, it was simply faster to learn, then a skill like shooting, passing, dribbling, etc.. I should also mention Swoopes is the reason why I stopped watching the WNBA, she was so hyped like she was incredible, and she sucked.. After all the hype I was expecting a player like CC.

Does Reese play with two other all-stars? Practically the entire Fever team is shooting well and better than Clark. Lexi Hull and Mitchell are hitting threes not being dished to for easier layups. Clark has the better team the Sky are rebuilding with a totally different roster than last year. The Fever started their rebuild 2 years ago. What’s good is the Sky have another 2 first round picks next year and another 2 the following year. So, long term, they are in a very good place.

Do you need a towel. Those assists all wouldn’t be if they were graded properly. The pass is supposed to lead DIRECTLY to a score. That’s the rule. So when Clark passes to Mitchell and she dribbles and creates space so she can shoot, that’s not an assist. When Clark passes to Mitchell who then DIRECTLY shoots, that’s an assist. I’ve see them give Clark an assist when she passes to a teammate along the sideline, who fakes then dribbles into the paint-a total different area from where the pass was received-and scores and they give her an assist when they shouldn’t. The W needs to clean this up. The rule is the same whether Olympic, professional, college or high school.

It would wreck ESPN’s credibility and really crush a young talented athlete’s spirit. Clark runs the floor with precision and has helped Mitchell shine and others with her needle-like passes. I do not discredit Reese as she is a great rookie as well, but not as impactful as a whole compared to Clark. Clark has excelled in points, assists, and in some games have been a force for rebounds. The only three teams who can beat them in a series right now is The Liberty , Aces, or Lynx. It's like they looking at records and not the actual games. The Suns beat them while they were still trying to gel. Out of 3 games right now, Connecticut cannot beat them in a series. Kelley and Caitlin is too much for everybody, the X-Factor is Boston. If Boston scores 15 points and Kelsey and Caitlin just do their walking 18 ppg and 9 assists they CAN win a championship. I don't know why in the NBA we can say a 6th seed can win the chip before then playoffs but in the WNBA they all scared to give props for what they see. Every game Fever plays is a playoff atmosphere. Other teams come playoff time are going to find it real hard to beat then if Fever makes it out of the first round. 5 game series. They are going to win a chip within the next 3 years with minor tweaks to the roster.

Then they had the toughest schedule to start the season . But after the Olympic break , the Fever have their players healthy and playing well together . I see a lot of people saying Clark shouldn't be Rookie of the year because she has a better supporting cast of players around her then Ange Reese , but I don't see people worrying about the 5 other Olympians surrounding A'ja with regards to talk about the MVP race .

It's not just being efficient. To me, it is one of two things.... Is she selfish and padding her stats or does she need to work on her basketball IQ. Whenever she misses the first shot and gets her own rebound she never, ever looks to kick it out. She will take the ugliest, low probability, off balances, throw it towards the rim type of shot, while her teammates are wide open. When you feed it to her down low I can uunderstand her taking the shot, but once you missed, the defense starts to converge towards the ball and by the time she secures her own rebound there is often two or three people on her and the others moving in her direction and her teammates are wide and you can tell it doesn't even cross her mind. I have never understood the argument, so far Reese is like the Dennis Rodman o the W but Clark like the Jorden of the W. This whole debate would be akin to voting MJ or Rodman for player of the year. Reese is a beast down low but she is one demential... in reality it should not even be close

I was just thinking about this last night, like should I just bet small money on them just in case? 🤔 Lol. They started the season off bad, but they've hit their stride & have been playing well. A lot of times, the team that wins the chip is whichever team that catches fire late in the season. Hard to say that they'll do it this year though, but I think next year they might be one of the top teams & can contend for a chip. CC will have the experience under her belt now, she'll get better, the team chemistry will get better as they're already starting to. One year of experience in the WNBA is A LOT because it's not a lot of teams. You gotta keep in mind, the WNBA currently only has 12 teams, so the odds of winning are a lot higher for good teams & the competition level is not as high as the NBA. It's like the NBA when Wilt & Russell were dominating back when there were only like 10 teams in the league. So I think next year they can start contending & possibly win. If not next year, then they might do it within the next 2-3 years. Like I said, it's only 12 teams, & 3 rounds in the Playoffs. Lol

Lobo says her data folks tell her that Reese would still lead the W in rebounds if we discount the rebounds off her own misses. Sounds compelling - but the math seems off. If 55 rebounds are off Reese’s own misses, and Chicago/Reese has played 30 games, that’s almost 2 rebounds/game. She’s ahead of Wilson by only 1.2 rebounds/game. Granted, being 2nd to Wilson is still fantastic. Though a 30ish% shooting percentage when many of her “shots” are from a couple feet away is kinda embarrassing.

DiJonai Carrington is claiming a meme using George Floyd likeness is Caitlin fans, too... this is beyond horrible and a TRUE real Caitlin fan would NEVER do this... That meme had to have been made by a Caitlin Clark HATER not a Caitlin Clark true fan. It was made to make people hate Caitlin not support her and to stir up racial divide. It needs to be investigated NOW who made the meme where George Floyd and policeman were superimposed with Caitlin and DiJonai 's faces. #indianafever @indianafever #wnba

Reese is a very good player who will become great, no doubt. However, while she leads the W in Rebounds, Clark leads in Assists. Then you go to Points. Clark scores 5 more per game. Then Blocks & Steals, Clark has a slight advantage in both. Ok and then wins, Clark’s Fever is +4. Head to head, +1 going Into tonight. Seems pretty clear cut.

It's very clear that The Fever have come a long way in maturing their team play and appreciation for each other. They showed a lot of Steel in that game when they came back and instead of looking frustrated and discouraged, they gritted their teeth and said you know what we got this. I even saw them smiling and laughing but the sun players always look like they had a corn cob up there you know what, like they were mad

If they fail (and lets not get carried away the Fever was one of the worst teams in the league the last two seasons), it will not be from nerves. Clark is a stone-cold killer and the Fever don't have time for introspection. The Hype will build the expectations become more unrealistic. But sport is filled with fairy-tales that became reality. We will have to wait and see.

*Elle, based on the comments, I’m glad I didn’t waste my time watching this. Are you seriously pushing Reese as ROTY!? One of the worst shooters in the history of basketball, shooting 27% from inside 5 feet!? First, it was 'Oh, her team is ahead of Clark's team,' but when that fell apart, now it’s some other BS. I hope you get fired along with the new group of people who are about to be fired, since ESPN has ZERO credibility and everyone is turning elsewhere for honest sports reporting-something you’ve made clear you’re not providing.*

Talk for a second about the intangibles for awards like ROY. At some point other factors come in to play. Is impact on the game as a whole or their impact on their team. Quite honestly if the stats are even debatable between Angel and Caitlyn. Caitlyn has single handedly changed the face of the WNBA. She has brought the Michael Jordan effect to the league. If sportswriters don't unanimously vote for Caitlyn they are ignorant in not realizing the possible damage that could come from it. The WNBA has already mismanaged the Caitlyn effect massively imo. It goes back to the MJ effect, the NBA was smart enough to realize what they had and milk it for everything it was worth. The WNBA has done everything they can to minimize the opportunities. Maddening!
