Speak for yourself!! This music was an inspiration at age six and the real ballet scene from “Orpheus in Hell”, with Orpheus being teased and tormented by the Can-Can women (I struck out “girls”) shaking their stockinged legs at him while prone was a real turn on when I was 19.

I don't know why not traditional. The hackneyed version is girls only, and danced to Offenbach. The original cancan was boys and girls, and some men dancers pushed the envelope; what they were doing here was, in fact, traditional.

I sure hope I get to see the show! I'll be in Paris for my birthday next year as part of a nearly 2-week tour. I was supposed to go Spain last year or Ireland this year, but both were COVID victims. The Moulin Rouge trip is an optional activity, but whether it happens depends on the number of people on the trip interested. It's also by far the most expensive extra on the trip.

After all the good reviews, I went to the show and was very disappointed. Horrible music, horrible queue, not logic in dance numbers, I did not receive positive emotion after the performance, they additionally charge for wardrobe, absolutely not worse spent money.

Since I booked the trip a year or so ago, they updated the tour page (hotels, etc.)and eliminated the extra excursion section (maybe it was too far in the future). At the time, if I remember, it was something like $185 (or was it Euros). Besides the show, the price included wine, dinner and champagne. It's one of the most popular extras according to the tour company. Besides, who knows if I'll ever get back to France again (assuming I actually get there 5 months from now)! Since two consecutive trips have been cancelled due to COVID I'd decided to add a subsequent tour to Switzerland that starts the day after France ends. I once added up every extra on both trips and converted the local currency to USD and figured if I did everything offered on both trips, it would add about an extra $1,200 to the trip.
