I like the stiff rollers, which the corsairs seem to be; but I detest the loose ones that logitech tends to use. It's so damn hard to get just 1-2 notches of volume difference with the loose ones, and on my one logitech I have at work I literally created a macro for up/down instead of using the built in roller. If it's a stiff roller tho, it's great. I also disagree with Plouffe a lot; but I don't think that's a bad thing.

I bought the TKL version of this, and I unironically love it as a daily beater for gaming. Up to 4000 Hz (real) polling, which no one can say they really feel in-game, but it's sturdy and feature complete. The aluminum top plate and extended forehead make it look nice for some reason too. No hotswap, but taking it apart isn't that complicated (16-17 screws all on the top, then it comes apart in half). The only thing I wish was that the 75% layout was more widespread, so that prebuilt brands with all the engineering and manufacturing capacity behind them can finally start making those.

I actually grew with a K70 model MX RED that up to this year was great, sadly I spilled a beverage which leaked into the board. I had it for 13 years, and I´m gonna get a new one. To be honest, the build quality is great, the components as well, and had everything you needed. The only sad thing for me, is that all new premium models come with RGB, which for me sucks. Let me explain. I may be a little "old school" (I´m 26 xD) but for me at the time, it was actually great to get one of these keyboards for around 100-110 US where I live. Since the RGB era everything went up 50-70 USD including this. Now i´m not saying this so much for mysefl, I´m able to afford it now without a problem. But I think most youger people when they´re at school can´t really spend 170 USD on a keyboard. So I would really like corsair to make a high quality mechanical keyboard without any bs (bluetooth, rgb, 50 profiles wtf, maybe 10 keyless) that youngers can acquire for around 80 USD. I know they can build it, and really hope they will.

As a quick anecdote - I've got a hobby of buying broken boards from people who don't wanna fix them, and hot swap boards are in no way more consistent or easier to fix than soldered boards. Key difference between "swap" and "hot-swap" that isn't caught in your explanation. Hot-swappable literally means while hot (Electrically speaking, which means on and operational.) So you could remove a low resistance cap and put in a high resistance cap without needing to disconnect/reconnect, or running some kind of profiling software etc.
@guycxz2 жыл бұрын
Hotswap in the context of keyboards means the switches are socketed, rather than soldered. Electrically they are the same, and you could make any keyboard hotswappable if you solder sockets in place of the switches. It's a misnomer, but it's the widely used term.

I find this keyboard a bit disappointing really. Just seems like the usual gaming brand formula to me with little done to compete with the more custom options out there in the keybaord market. I'd rather go with one of the options from the likes of Glorious or Keychron at this point if I'm spending this amount of money. Not tied down to Cherry switches for a start and could get fancy with a good quality PBT keycap set (which are much better than sets from the likes of Corsair and Razer). Personally, I went custom with a GMMK board which ended up cheaper than the equivalent Corsair option and feels leaps and bounds better than the Corsair it replaced. I think there's a case for brands offering at least hotswap options now as this area of the market really seems to have taken off and can lead to massive improvements. Surely this would appeal to those who want to explore things like custom switches and keycaps while also staying in a familiar ecosystem in terms of additional software and hardware features.

I personally hate 60% keyboards, and/or low profile "thin" keyboards. They have their place and many like them. But there is still a lot of people that want a full size keyboard. And, except for Razor Black Widow which all of their boards seem to have connection issues, there are almost ZERO Full Size WIRELESS RGB keyboards. Which there is no reason for this with today's battery life, connection speeds, and etc.

I think cherry should just discontinue the blues and clone the kailh clickbar switches for their clickies. MX Blues really give clicky switches a bad name.

Not a fan of the legend, honestly. Still using the original K70GB that I preordered back in 2014. Best keyboard I've ever used! (screw iCUE, though. The original Corsair Utility Engine is far superior. Had to downgrade to it.)

The Corsair's legend is the K95 and it's been dead for a while now.

The one you didn't get is the only one I would consider... I hate loud keyboards.

ah that cable flex xD that's the one thing I still don't have for my keyboards

So...it's just a K70 TKL Champion with a numpad and wrist rest? Solid board, but above anything else this just proves that there's no reason for the TKL to have not come with a wrist rest

It's cherry switches, so that was a given from the start. The sound is just the cherry on top.

look, its not a bad keybaord, they are solid, built like a brickhouse. they last a long time. this guy clearly has his own very specific ways of doing things with keyboards

It's not hard to make a keyboard that last a long time lol. Even a $40 one can last 50+ years

The perfect keyboard doesn't exist. All these manufacturers keep designing a bunch of useless features instead of concentrating on a GREAT simple keyboard. And for those of us who use full size keyboards (because TKLs are pointless), building my own keyboard isn't an option.
