Very cool, I tried it today, and let me just add that if you use tape to seal the edges of whatever you're working on you must not have a leak. If you have a leak, when you come back to check you will have a puddle of glue on the floor. This is the way I work.

I was thinking of doing this with the glue instead of resin on my next painting. Do you know if larger glass will hold?

Can you mix sparkling dry pigments with clear glue to paint with?
@LoveWhatuDo332 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about Mica powder? I'm pretty sure you can especially with the glue being clear. Great question 🙂
@kiiwiispice2 жыл бұрын
Yes…it’s the same concept as the color/glitter glues Elmer’s sells. You must be sure the pigment is ultra fine so you won’t have color clumps in it! Good luck!

If you ever feel like playing with this concept again -maybe try letting the cups of colored glue sit for a while and lose some of their moisture content…so they might be less runny and can hold the glass/glitter additives better (kind of like degassing/letting resin thicken before doing art pours)…?🤔 But I definitely like this experiment! I hate using my resin when I’m just playing around with a new proof of concept/idea (because it always bums me out if it doesn’t work-and I just wasted like $20 of resin. 🤣 I would DEFINITELY prefer using an inexpensive alternative for when I’m playing with ideas!
@LoveWhatuDo332 жыл бұрын
Correct 💯
@kiiwiispice2 жыл бұрын
Costs way too much to use resin for an experimental new idea! How would this work with a small amt of resin, Diamond Glaze or Triple Thick mixed in with the clear glue!?! 🤔 I was also told there is a less expensive gallon of clear glue on Amazon that performs better than Elmer’s…FYI
No feels more like a soft plastic not hard like resin

Polyurethane finish would have given you the shine & glaze you wanted. Triple Thick & Diamond Glaze too…all less than resin! I have yet to do any projects bcz they would all be practice but now with the Elmer’s Clear & then the Elmer’s White taking the place of liquid latex, I can practice ALL DAY LONG!!!

The liquid pigments sold at TKB TRADING is just the powder pigment mixed in castor oil at a highly concentrated amt for optimal color!

It shines just not as much as epoxy does a somewhat good alternative if you don't have the good stuff
@kiiwiispice2 жыл бұрын
Considering Glue is for adhesion & smooth to smooth usually peels…it NOT being a finishing product…not likely to shine…base coats usually don’t but a brush on or spray on shiny &/or glass finishing sealant will give that desired look!!!
@EstelleCreativeDesigns2 жыл бұрын
