Spicy (flavorful) vs. Spicy (hot) are two different things. When I get Indian food, I know it'll be flavorful. As for heat, I tell food vendors, "Don't make it फ़िरंगी spicy." There is a balance. Like when you get Chinese food, "麻辣."

In India, spicy doesnt mean hot, it means theres a big blend of spices. If you want "hot" Spicy food, visit Rajasthan, West Bengal or Assam. Generally Eastern India likes red hot spicy food. In Southern India you wont find too many hot dishes. But South uses spices which are very rare and expensive which enhances the taste and gives out amazing aroma.

Have you tried Andhra Food if not try in Hyderabad or Andhra Pradesh it's extremely spicy 🔥, ofcourse eastern has spicey food because of the Naga chilli, Andhra and Telangana produces some of the hottest chillies because they eat lot of the pickles like mango, lemon, amla, tomato, tamarind, red chilli, mixed veg, garlic etc..even meat pickles like chicken and mutton...,

@@naninani1549 That's why I said not all South Indian food are spicy, but few of them can be. No haven't tried Andhra cuisine yet, but Hyderabad biriyani I had, pretty spicy. But again nothing compared to east. Like Bihar, Orissa, Bengal, Assam can be fatally spicy. 😂😂

Always avoid frozen water (ice cubes, fresh ice-cream) and things like cold soup in warm countries. That will prevent 9 out of 10 food poisonings. It's not even about hygiene perse it's about there simply being different parasites in warmer climates.

I always say to my German friends that spicy and hot are 2 different things. When you say spicy food in India, it might not be hot but flavourful with optimum amount of spices to add to the flavour. If you want hot, ask for more teekha (hot in hindi), but honestly I can't handle teekha myself 😅 Btw, your videos are awesome, wish you a nice time in India. If you are into smoked food, go for different tandoori/kebab dishes on offer. We have different fusion foods as well: Indo-Chinese, our own variations of pizza and pasta, sizzlers, dumplings like momos etc.

Indian food is considered spicy because in one dish there could be a combination of 15 different spices. Spicy doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be hot. If you’re looking for hot food, then you have to go to South India. Northern India is milder and you definitely won’t find extremely spicy stuff in Bombay unless you ask for more green / red chillies .

Agree with the full of spice vs hot chili spice. My family can have a stomach reaction from 'full of spice' dishes. It's like their system is not used to so much spice per ounce. I've never felt that but I have been out with relatives who didn't feel so good after Indian food. I feel elated afterward because it is so flavorful. Yum.
