EXACTLY what I immediately thought when I 1st heard that as well - re-watched and listened to it at least 20 times !!! Rivals one of my favorite movie quote, "..you are a cowardly son of a bitch, you just shot an un-armed man" - "Well he should've armed himself " I wish I could afford to hang out w/these guys as they teach me how to shoot.. It'd be like Tiger Woods teaching me how to golf, both of which would be an absolute heaven sent dream come true

I want to thank you for this video. I am a training sergeant for a local police department in North Carolina, and we carry the P320 Carry (9mm). We recently had an officer fail day time handgun qualification, and was basically doing everything that you described in this video (bringing his head down, shooting high, wraping his thumbs). We spent several hours with him on the range; however, even after several hours of remedial he did not qualify. He did state that he carried the Glock prior to coming to our department, which I figured could be an issue; however, I did not give it too much thought on the range. When I got home that night, I saw this video on my youtube channel. As I watched it, I could not believe how accurate and well stated all of the points were regarding transitioning from Glock to the Sig P320. In fact, that night I forwarded the video link to the officer's email and had him watch it. The next day we took him to the range and he qualified. He not only qualified but achieved his highest score ever (according to him). I write all this to thank you for creating this content. As a firearms instructor I had run the gamut as far as trying figure out what was causing the issues with his shooting. It was such a a relief to have some explanation, (not saying it will fix every poor shooter), but at least I have a better idea of how to evaluate shooters like this. Please thank both of the guys from GBRS for sharing their wealth of knowledge on your channel. I subscirbe not only to your channel, but their's as well. I hope to someday get out to Utah and pay ya'll a visit. Thank you for what you do and God Bless all of you.

Really? You are a training instructor and think these guys are so great? Guess you really like the part at 4:10 where he points a real gun muzzle at himself? Great range safety there. Sure go yo Utah and pay them a visit....point your gun at your balls...they wont mind.

He safety checked the firearm prior to pointing it at himself, yes treat all firearms as if their loaded, but pragmatically for demonstration purposes that isnt always possible. I have had classes where myself and the instructor confirm clear before for demonstration purposes he points a gun right at me, I do not mind at all because we have both visually confirmed clear of the weapon and the risk is worth the reward of the new found knowledge / perspective. But yes chad, lets listen to you and do as you do instead of the Green Beret.

I thought it interesting as a Martial Artist that DJ mentions he trains himself to focus on the A Zone. In my training i was taught to do the same because it allows you to see both their possible weapons hands and their shoulder movements telegraphing intention and attacks. It allows you to observe more vital information using your peripheral vision and fighting against that tunnel vision.

Mike - you've done it again......As a relative newby to handguns, I sat glued to this 2 part series and have saved it to my lists. I was humbled to watch three guys who make most of us look like chumps, calmly discuss techniques with absolutely zero ego and nothing to prove. I have watched hours and hours of gun "experts" on KZbin, taken courses and this was hands down THE most valuable tuition I have had. Ever. You guys rock, and have left me with a man crush that even my wife understands. Stay safe, please bring us more of this and thank you for your service.

Just bought a new laptop and one of the features of it is show little pop-ups when a youtube video I might be interested in. As opened it up this morning on the couch, I got the notification about the Part 2 and got straight-up giddy. My touchpad reaction time opening this video was a personal best. Mike's presentation is gold. He is very down to earth and humble, honest about mistakes, transparent about all things, even if it goes against the macho factor found in so many gun videos and instructors. He shows his nervousness, embraces it, and becomes a better operator. All of these guys are complete bad asses , but don't come off like it.

I love how Mike demonstrates that no matter how badass you are, you’re always a student. And him saying he was scared of the new trigger was awesome. Most people, especially pros, will not admit that stuff, and the fact he did speaks to his character. He really shows that even the best and most comfortable with guns still fear the power of them. He gives shooters a lot of confidence in their abilities and what they can achieve through simple reps.

Amazing to see a Green Beret be so fucking willing to learn and quite literally starting from the ground up on a new platform like everyone should. Just goes to show that no matter your experience (in anything in life), your open mindedness is key to learning. I mean he’s asking so many questions and intently listening to feedback it’s just an exemplary job of showing how we all need to approach new things. They assume they know nothing and approach the tool with such humility and respect. That is why there are the best in the world That is why they are the best

I'm not even close to a 1/10000000000 level of skill, experience and knowledge that these gentlemen posses... That is a 3 man wrecking crew and it is undeniable that it is a dangerous coctail for any enemies foreign or domestic when you have men that are peaceful but have the abillity to use extreme violence in such a precise and quick manner. The amount of experience and knowledge between these gentleman is amazing to watch as they are willing to learn and absorb more skills and have the down to earth approach as they are very humble as they very easily could be cocky but they instead take the approach of always being open to others input. Great vid. Mike, the slide lock issues you had were probably not magazine related. They were likely your right thumb riding against the slide lock lever, loxking the slide in mid cycle. When we issued the P320X Carry to our agency, we saw former Glock shooters having issues with that. I myself had issues with it during the first hour with the Sig, since I was a Glock guy that had a high grip riding thumbs against the slide. Once I made the conscious decision to slide my right thumb over to the left a little, the Sig no longer locked the slide mid cycle. You mentioned you had that issue on Glocks so you installed the aftermarket lever. The same issue can happen on the Sig. I think the Sig is more susceptible to inadvertent slide lock for right handed shooters than the Glock, coming from Glock. Something to look at. 🤙🏼🇺🇸

I'm a old jar head 94-98. I've adapted my shooting styles several different times during the years since I got out. I've learned from Seals and Rangers. Some cops have good knowledge too. I think the base I learned in the Marines and the hammered home base skills still are very valid. Then I learn how to improve through constant videos and drills. I really appreciate all 3 of you men for your knowledge and willingness to share. I'll always put something to test and add it to my kit if it works. This for sure works. Well done guys.

Cheers great video. As a Canadian Veteran, I can offer the opinion that you guys are Spot on ... excuse the pun. When I first went overseas, we were the first ones to use the C-7 5.56mm rifle, transitioning from the FNC1A1 7.62mm semiautomatic rifle. Since the iron sights at the time were black, I found that a sunflower yellow coloured paint on the front post and the rear apature sight allowed me a 2.5 in grouping at one hundred meters in a timed shoot after a 10km run with gear in under an hour. Using paint to highlight the sight as you mentioned would be super. Of course, some higher up thought I was modifying the weopan and made me get rid of the paint ... until he left. For the record, the ones in charge thought that since we were Peacekeeping we were only allowed to go on patrol with 10 rounds ... yes, you heard right, and we were expected to fire two warning shots in the air. When I asked for a basic combat load, I was repremanded. Yep, 10 rounds, not even a full 30 round magazine ... with someone figuring the plastic mags were cheaper and not realizing the headaches caused with the lips of the magazines chipping etc. It took Yugoslavia to clue in the higherups that when shot at, ammo carried was worth more that it sitting on a base somewhere. Sorry ... rattled on there for a second.
