I'm vegan and my biggest recommendation for Sarah is to include maca powder into her diet (whether it be in coffee, smoothies, oatmeal, etc). It is known to help balance hormones and fertility! Def do some research. Hope this helps

After trying to get pregnant for nearly two years with no luck (and finally diagnosed with pcos) I decided to switch to a plant based diet on my mom's recommendation after she watched Forks Over Knives and did some additional research. I figured I had nothing to lose. I got pregnant in June and am now 10 weeks! Definitely worth it! Aside from becoming pregnant just from changing my diet, my adult acne cleared up (of course it's back now that I'm pregnant, but I don't even care!) And I also lost about 15 pounds You will get some negative feedback, just make sure to arm yourselves with knowledge!! Good luck! Praying for you two! Edit: for recipe inspiration I use Instagram (#veganfood), and follow the blogs Oh She Glows and Minimalist Baker, and on KZbin Sarah Lemkus, Melissa Alexandria, and Ellen V.S.

Jackfruit canned in water, find at any Asian food store or some supermatkets. Drained. Pull apart the larger pieces (takes about 5mins). Cook in fry pan+BBQ sauce for 5-10 mins. SO EASY. SO TASTY! Use for pulled "pork" sandwiches and no one can tell the difference!

My IVF doctor told us to go vegan 2 years ago. We did it together and it has changed our lives for the better in all aspects. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage, but I really feel like my endometriosis has gotten way better and stays away for longer. Keep on this path! Watch the videos to stay vegan for the animals ❤️ The only supplement you need is B12, and make sure you eat enough food!!! If you have ANY questions ask me :)

Sorry to hear about the miscarriage Kelly...we know too well how that feels. It is crazy to think about all the ways eating plant-based could benefit your health! We definitely know too that there is an animal treatment problem in the food industry, we just wanted people to know that we were focusing on the health benefits and not trying to pick a fight. :) Thanks for your support!

OMG too funny... we watched this documentary too and immediately changed a lot of things with our diet. Granted, we were already on a pretty strict endo diet, but it was pretty interesting to see it's effect on Eric's thoughts on it all. Exciting stuff guys. It's not easy but you can totally do it! :) I'll link you my fav vegan mac and cheese recipe. I make it with gluten free pasta personally.

The body has an amazing ability to heal, we just have to give it the proper nutrients. Focus on whole foods. The processed vegan substitutes are good for transitioning. Also, as much raw as possible. Goodluck on your journey! Vegan dieting is great and has alot of health benefits. I tried it when I was trying to conceive, but then came across the keto diet. Funny thing is, I got pregnant about 1-2 months into the keto diet. Interestingly enough, I felt better on the keto diet. It's amazing how our bodies work differently. Some work well with plant based and no meat, and some work with meat and minimal carbs. But definitely do what feels best for you both! Praying your rainbow baby is right around the corner!!

I've been vegan for almost 2 years after a heavy meat based diet, had a completely vegan pregnancy, and I love the lifestyle! Follow vegan Instagrams, recipe blogs like minimalist baker and Oh She Glows for ideas, but basically just eat what you'd normally eat, just the vegan version, example: replace the meat in spaghetti with lentils. BAM! Extremely healthy and filling. Be careful not to restrict calories - plant foods are high in fibre and therefore bulkier than animal/processed foods and you will feel full before you may have enough calories. This is a common error and that's why people feel hungry/have their hair fall out in extreme cases - they are literally starving!
@zen35067 жыл бұрын
just make sure you eat enough. Cause you have to eat more on a vegan diet to reach the same calories as if you were eating meat etc...... animal products are more calorie dense. but definately check out Sarah Lemkus youtube channel. I think you will find her really helpful.

I'm vegan too! Make sure you have B12 supplements; 100mcg daily or 2500mcg weekly. All B12 supplements are vegan. Also, everyday get your omega-3 fats in (DHA's) by eating ¼ cup walnuts, or 1 tablespoon chia seeds, or 2 tablespoons flaxmeal (flax seed meal), or 3 teaspoons of hemp seeds. If you can't eat any of those daily you'll need DHA supplements. Food is always best! Check out NutritionFacts.org. Dr Michael Greger is literally amazing. So, so good!

Have you guys ever tried going to a naturopath? My husband had low motility and was put on some natural supplement to improve his motility. I changed my diet to a predominantly blood type a foods diet after recommendations from my naturopath. After trying for two years and one miscarriage I'm now 30 weeks pregnant 👍😄. Think food and stress had a lot to do with the unexplained infertility.

Have y'all tried seitan? I used to make my own as a protein source. It's made from wheat gluten and is dense and "meatier" than tofu. I love tofu too, but when I wanted a more "meat" like substitute I used seitan. You can find it in the grocery store premade.

That's great, I hope it helps. In all honestly and trepidation the ethical concerns of modern animal agriculture are valid. Pigs are smarter then your dog, as smart as a 3 year old. They can do puzzles 😮 You wouldn't impregnate you dog, lock her in a cage so she couldn't turn around or move, or take care of her babies. Then impregnate her again and again. Pigs are universally factory farmed, this is where antibiotic resistance bacteria is made. The reality is so well hidden, your meat isn't coming a happy farms. 56 billion land animals and and trillions of marine life are killed for 7.5 billion humans, yet there are still people starving to death along with people being literally too poor to eat meat. Just wait until the 3rd world countries begin to emulate the western lifestyle in this respect. The grain/legumes we feed to these farmed animals would feed the world's population many times over. The Amazon rain forest is disappearing because of westerners meat comsumption. Bulls seaman is collect by human hands with the use of what is effectively an electrified dildo. Dairy cows are artificially impregnated year after year. Her babies taken away from her so they cant bond and the baby won't take its mothers milk. Because lets face it, humans want it. Until finally, her body falls apart and she goes to the meat industry. I apologise of this comes across wrong, I am passionate. But the truth needs to be heard, it is disturbing. 😷
