Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZbin channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I agree Will. I also think what is hurting him is his 100% draw swing. I have played that way for last 8-10 yrs and took lessons this yr to get away from it. While the draw will definately give you better distance, when it gets bad its super easy to over cook the draw and control shots and you can see it in ALL Ricks videos. I was doing the exact same things Rick is doing. Its actually crazy to watch as i feel im watching myself last yr. After just 5 rounds im seeing the fruits of a change, starting to pin seek quite a bit, much more fun. Now my missess bounce a couple yards forward instead of 20,30,40 yrs left.

Kennedy was quite honest in talking about his game. Youth brings the concept of chasing the score. Patience is a learned experiential commodity many nonpro golfers deal with in a negative fashion. We worry about speed, power, and how far can I hit my driver. Play the course, chase the course, not the score. Smart kid, down to earth. Very interested in watching his future.

I tell people all the time if you can't step up and shoot 63 on any given day it's not gonna work. For example, I made got through local US Open qualifying in a playoff after shooting 66. I then shot 66-67 in Sectionals and missed qualifying by 4 shots. -11 over two rounds at a hard golf course and wasn't even close. I wish you well Frank and NEVER fear a score.

A +7 hcp opening with such a hideous snap-hook somehows warms my heart. no one has ever mastered this game, there are just some that suck less than others. 😂 jokes aside, he is 16 and his swing is pure violence, it really tingles to just watch it on tv

I'm not trying to belittle him nor judge him just based off of this, the kid is unbelievable especially for a 16 year old but I question the validity of his plus 7 handicap. I mean I'm sure based off the system that is what he comes in at but the system isn't perfect. Like the last time Tiger had a registered handicap he was at plus 8 and that was the same time he was lapping the field at the 97 Masters. It's hard for me to believe that he was only 1 shot better than this kid right now.

@@mattthomas1442 I have to agree. I’d say in reality he’s maybe a plus 2 or 3 but plus 7 seems ridiculous for a 16 year old. Most of the pros around off that handicap. He’s a very good player but I’m not buying plus 7

16:48 now that's something you will not see very often in the US.... There are a lot of foxes in certain parts of the country, but they're much more skiddish about being close to people here. Pretty neat moment that he just sauntered up and chose to sit off the side of the tee box to watch your drive.

Rick's struggles are 100% his mental game. You should do a series where he addresses this with golf psychologist help. This would be so fascinating - basically addressing his thought process, confidence, routine, etc. Cocky rick is a great golfer, problem is that one or two slip ups and he turns into scared Rick and then it's game over. Mental coaching basically makes cocky rick = normal rick.

I'd have to tell him to refrain from talking when I'm addressing my putt, which shouldn't be needed. Although encouraging, just not the right time.

Can we just talk about how mature this kid is at 16 years old? I mean, when i was 16, i had already done a year in a half in a long-term residential treatment facility for drugs, and i was just about to throw away my clean time for, oooh, about 15 more years of rippin and runnin, going wild with the drugs, almost dying 3 different times before finally getting clean at 31.... 16 years old and this kid is more mature than i am now at 41 lmao. Unreal. This kid is destined for greatness. Some people are just born to do really big things. Great to see.
