The level cap rule dosent say, that you cant use a pokemon, witch Level up druing a battle against a gym leader for exampel, so that your pokemon is a higer Level than the gym leaders ace. Its important that the level from your team is under or at the gym pokemon ace, level up during battle will be okay. Some KZbinrs like PokemonChallanges play after this rule and level their pokemon close the level cap, for a little atwantage in the battle

So glad to see you actually use ice beam and evolve gloom before the 6th gym as both these elements were my complaints in flygon's nuzlocke of this same challenge :) Also shiftry is my favourite grass type, sunny day, solarbeam destroys late game hoenn and with faint attack at 31 and leaf stone before the 6th gym it's pretty easy to get great sweeps set up in the late game.

Hey swiggo if you do a challenge like this again just remember that level caps only count until you challenge the gym leader so if your pokemon evolves beyond the level cap during a gym leader battle you can use it and you don't have to switch it it's just something I see most other hardcore nuzlockers use this rule so I thought I would let you know

I agree, the Dragon-Type E4 members aren't scary at all, especially Drake, since his mons typings are doubly weak to Ice. In JaidenAnimation's run, Glacia managed to kill two of Jaiden's mons, but Drake was swept by Jaiden's Walrein. Glacia is definitely more dangerous

Yeah right? That also threw me for a loop. You as the player cannot get Bright Powder before the Battle Frontier, and Metang isn’t holding it. I watched it at lowered speed and I didn’t see Sand Attack. Crobat doesn’t have Hustle. The only explanation is that the game... glitched?

Someone probably mentioned this already but general nuzlocke rules allow you to level up during battle (and this is often abused to boost pokemon into better stat ranges for later parts of the fight.) I actually messed up one in my last battle because I was trying to level up my Leavanny to ensure outspeed on Excadrill but overestimated how much exp I would get from Krokorok after double switching in. It worked out and I still outsped to get the bug bite off but I might have wiped if I hadnt been able to outspeed and steal the sitrus berry since Rock Slide almost killed even afrer the health steal boost.

I was doing a nuzlocke and I was against glacia and the 2 Pokémon that aren’t weak to ice that I had were in the red Sandra the sandshrew took out her glalie with dig. A true legend. Also if your Pokémon goes over the level cap during battle it can still be used.

TBH I kinda wanted to see a Fire Type Only in Emerald which could be too easy. Also You Can Use HM Pokemon Outside of Battle but not in Gyms or Any Battles in Particular I really Love the Content I feel like Zwiggo Gave an Advantage to His Enemies not Himself which feels like a Harder version of the Rules TBH.

I predict that he will have a decent time with Wallace, but struggle making it there because of Winona, Glacia’s Galelie, and Drake. Ludicolo is probably pretty much nessecary to win this run bc Flannary, and it also helps against some of the things I listed above. Btw, the thing about Galile specifically is cause most of her other Pokémon are also water types. Also Wallace’s milotic. might not be a one shot because of it’s crazy special defense. And his ludicolo will spam leech seed and double team.

8:25 - while that is one way to interpret the rules, you can relax a bit, as most people who use this rule set play it as that you have that level cap up until you initiate the battle with the leader/E4 or whatnot, leveling up during the battle is generally seen as ok, as it would be really weird if you were forced to say, stop using a pokemon during the champion fight, or something similar. It’s still perfectly valid to play like you are of course.
