in the original, the "safety ring" not only stops "mortal blows", it ALSO makes the wearer completely immune to ALL bad status effects! i always put it on Peach, since she can use her magic to cure all bad effects! VERY handy when Smilax tries to turn everyone into mushrooms! also, the "work pants" are surprisingly good, especially for Bowser. if Belome tastes Bowser, he says, "yuck! how repulsive!", and for Peach, he says, "mmm, peachy." if the Pink Ranger is not the last one beatien, she says "my makeup's smeared!" and Red retorts, "then change brands!"

I mean, they are tough, but tbh the most trouble I had were the gimmicky ones like Punchinello and Booster. The others were at least easier to figure out or could be brute forced with Lazy Shell Peach.

Punchinello especially. In my experience, you have to get a perfectly timed hit to turn the Bob-ombs around. And unless you perfect guard, they're doing a lot of damage even to LS Peach.

Fun notes: Getting all the clues in the ship gets you a bonus reward for each one, like more FP or Max Mushrooms. Also, if you immediately hand over the star without any resistance, the real mayor rewards you later with a Flower Box (+5 FP!). Every time you refuse and they send someone back to torture him, your reward decreases. Eventually it becomes a single sarcastic coin. Also, the Safety Ring protects from instant death attacks, but it turns out, so does the Jynx Belt, too! I suggest equipping both of them plus the Quartz Charm from Culex when doing the post-game rematch fight against Jynx.

I might be wrong but does the super suit do it too? (the reward for the 100 super jumps) I had it on when fighting jinx in his rematch and I could have sworn Mario didn't die to the insta kill he has and the accessory he had was the attack scarf.

@@BlaizeTheDragon It protects from all status ailments and elemental attacks. I don't think that includes instant death, but I could be wrong. Given all the massive stat gains and the other factors, it's still the best equipment in the game, whether or not it does.

My childhood experience with Mario was with Sunshine & Luigi's Mansion back on Gamecube, but when I saw that this game was getting remade I was almost as excited as those that played it back on 64. I tried REALLY HARD not to watch these videos for spoilers for when I do a playthrough of this Gem of a Remake on my own channel, but just couldn't look away. And now that it's done, a part of me wants to cry that the adventure is over so soon.

The triple move is dependent on your party. Peach in the party is usually an assist triple, with Mallow and Peach fully healing everyone and Geno and Peach creating a barrier for everyone that blocks one attack each.

I beat all three Sensei Jinx battles in SMRPG on my first go. As in no game overs. Only at like level 15-16. It was NOT easy, my team was kinda dropping like flies, but thanks to those party buffs I brought, Geno's power, and Peach's healing power, I was able to pull through. Same goes for Culex, barely won on my first go. The rematch, however....

It's funny that 99% of this game is entirely Mario stuff, but then there's Culex. He looks like the last boss in a Final Fantasy game, the FF victory theme plays when you beat him, and his theme is a remix of FF4's boss theme! Edit: Also, the song that plays when he talks is Prelude, which is in every FF game.

As someone who has finished the game as well just to see this video, I can't express more emotionally than in words here on how great this game was to experience first hand in my fifth LP with Premieres for my video coming tomorrow, (sorry for plugging.) This was truly a great game to watch and play. I can't wait for more stories like this if Nintendo decides to make any new stories here that are heart felt and charming like this. Now I may not show it in words in my video, but now I can see why Geno was and is everybody's favorite. I genuinely felt sad when I finished the main game.
