The Blades of Mercy and the Burial Blade are literally the only two trick weapons with that scaling arrangement, Doom, haha! A bit of unfortunate luck there. The reason behind it is that they are both made from "Siderite" which is an otherworldly material that "fell from the heavens," according to their description. Thus, as it comes from the beyond, it has a scaling with Arcane and cannot be buffed. It does however also mean they make a very unique sound when you do the running attack, the backstep attack, and the roll attack. They're the only two trick weapons that do so, so that's a little neat I suppose :)

Visceral damage scales off of SKL and total level, however any +scaling gems on your active weapon will also add that to your visceral, meaning that if you have a heavy (+STR scaling) gem, your viscerals will scale off of STR

I think it’s skill, overall level, and anything that increases your thrust damage. Physical attack, nourishing, and, of course, and any gem that increases scaling on physical attributes. Elemental gems and blunt damage gems do not increase the damage of viscerals from what I remember.

Not only did you make the error of choosing your firearm based off "trying something new", you even chose to pass on the actual skill based weapon of the starting weapons. Threaded cane is the starting weapon for any skill based run, opting into BoM if you so desire. (Trust me, I know from experience...)

Myt first playthrough was with the axe. On my second playthrough i used the saw cleaver, i never expected it to be this good. Skill is 101% the way to go in Bloodborne. Normal enemies i think are easier with the axe with it's huge sweep attacks but the saw cleaver absolutely melts the bosses.

Once you get the taste of it, visceraling everything that you can becomes such a dirty strategy that it some point I decided not to use it against certain bosses like orphan just because it will not be that much fun if I just annihilate them. Check my recent video about clawmark rune. I posted it to show my friend how maria becomes absolutely helpless if you just shot randomly 😂😂😂

The shotty purpose is ease of timing for repost setups vs range. The way it fires is a reverse v making it really easy to set up a repost since it’s Basicly 3 waves of buckshot for 3 chances to hit a repost timing trigger for one bullet. Also i’. Surpised it fires slower than the pistol, it’s alway felt the same speed to me on the first shot then it got slower.

IDK if you do requests or anything but I've recently been doing "Color Restricted" runs in Elden Ring where you only use equipment dedicated to one color at a time (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, white, black) and it's been pretty interesting. Use Equipment that is either Visibly the color of choice or says the color in the Name or Description.

If you don't know, you can actually make this run extremely easy and borderline godlike, because skill affects your visceral attack damage and the only cap to that effect of the stat is 99, and you can pair that with all 3 clawmark runes and you'll pretty much one shot everything if you can visceral them

You can beat Bloodborne at level 4, so obviously you can beat the game while leveling only a specific stat, but it's cool to see the how of every run
