Dark Souls 2 Chime Melee Attacks Only. Can you beat Dark Souls 2 with a miracle build but without any miracles? In this "guide" I show how to survive Dark Souls II scholar of the first sin edition (PS4) by only using chime melee attacks to do damage against enemies. The reason lightning still does good damage against LGK is because it's raining. You're both wet, so you both take more damage from lightning. His resistance really just brings him up to normal.

dark damage should still be higher however, dark urns vs lightning urns show that difference, plus testing too. There is probably an issue with pure amount of lightning vs dark on the chimes where the caitha chime is too low to win despite Looking knight being weaker to dark.

The reason why lightning still did more damage to looking glass knight is because the devs attempted to make him resist lightning, but him being in the rain gives him the wet debuff which actually makes him still weak to lightning

Back in unpatched vanilla, dark souls 2, the disc chime used to have a bash attack that was so overpowered in PVP that it had to be nerfed. Wild stuff.

Haven't seen the whole vid yet and scrolled a bit the comment section and saw no one mention it but I wanted to point it out, you mention the chime displaying pretty high AR while not dealing much damage, that's because the shown AR is the magic damage. It's really apparent when you run a dark build, since staves (and prolly chimes IDK I only used staves with dark) display outrageous AR values because they are just displaying the combined Magic and Dark AR (even though it makes zero sense since those are two separate values for damage with spells). It was really apparent when I had a knight build embracing the darkness within him mid playthrough, his treebranch had like 400 AR while the broadsword had 200 with roughly 20 ish in str/dex/int/faith. tl;dr displayed AR for magic weapon is misleading.
