If WST had any balls, they would fine Selt for his unacceptable conduct. To lack respect to an opponent, to tell the referee to shut up and to get away with it is totally ridiculous. And his analysis of the events is even more stupid. No remorse, no excuses and totally arrogant. He clearly thinks that is totally normal and acceptable, but it clearly is not!

"I'd already made the decision that I wasn't going to carry on". I wonder if Zizins had missed the blue whether the handshake would've come... of course not. I'm not having it. If he'd come on here and held his hands up and said he was wrong to do what he did, then I think people would've had time for that. His response here, in my opinion, shows you what you need to know about Selt.

I hope Selt will reflect on his behaviour with a bit more humility over time. Showing emotion is one thing, but intimidating an 18 year old like that, is just a bit sad all round. It's not good for him, his opponent, or the game. It's one thing to make a mistake, but letting your ego prevent you from reflecting and learning from it, is unwise.

Love watching snooker, since the early 80s.. Much respect for all players who are naturally gifted, work hard and practice long and most importantly show humility and respect to their opponent, the ref and the audience. Will not be watching this video out of principle. And I will never pay to see Selt, nor watch any match he is involved in. Utter disgrace to the game and unforgivable behaviour.

I just jumped over to Eurosport to watch the video. I am surprised. How Mr. Selt takes about it here suggest it was nothing. It wasn’t to his opponent. It might have been a normal emotion, but is anger seems to have found a target that didn’t deserve it. That poor kid was completely and visibly devastated by the reaction. It’s also impolite to let the opponent not finish the table. Unprofessional, one might say. I guess even ashamed for the fluke. It was a fluke; nobody has to be ashamed because they one by a fluke. And rambling out of the arena while the referee was trying to council the kid so they get out of their mood, like being a seven year old denied some sweets. Just imagine a person double your age get yelling and throwing a tantrum because they lost a game, and obviously fair. I hope Mr. Selt at least apologized for his “normal emotions”, because this was as unsportsmanlike as one can get. 😮 Sadly, this has taken away my enthusiasm for watching this video as well… 🙁

The acrobatics being performed by Selt to justify his juvenile and completely unprofessional behaviour is almost impressive. What delusion. Notice, too, how he tries minimise the issue. From his own account, you could be forgiven for thinking it was just a quick outburst, a momentary lapse of judgement. Then you watch the clip, and see the 6ft baby throwing a tantrum my toddler would be ashamed of. He robbed that lad of his moment, he wants to be ashamed. I hope he kicks up the same fuss the next time he benefits from a fluke, since he feels so strongly about that.

I will never watch another minute of Selt after his disgusting behaviour. The fact that he laughs about it now and acts as if it were trivial makes it even worse. No the game was not lost on the fluked red. He could still have played on for snookers so disturbing his opponent with his violent outburst is unforgivable.

Fair enough you can have an outburst in the heat of the moment but to go on this and show no remorse is desperately unprofessional. You may say the kid won but he was pretty distraught.

This is very awkward to watch. Stephen smirking and trying to defend such a horrible temper tantrum against a young kid. They sound like two bullies in a playground laughing and joking at the kids expense. Yes he potted the blue and won, but it’s just so cringeworthy to hear Selt’s insincere, sarcastic mocking apologies and all Hendry can do is deflect by pointing to unrelated issues like comparing it to Ebdo’s fist pump. Wtf? Really? .. Shame on you Stephen for downplaying his shocking behaviour with subtlety disguised backhanded remarks. I thought better of you, but then i guess it’s all good for your yourube show right? Both need to man up and accept nothing about what Selt did was acceptable in any way shape or form.
