A few tips if you don't mind. I know you noticed some of these yourself but I'll leave it here anyway. If it helps one person then it was worth it. - Focus on getting resources, don't stand still, like, really. After all, you're a miner. Normally you should get all gold and nitra on every level right when the elite appears. It's crucial especially on higher difficulties as you use it to buy much needed upgrades. - Nitra upgrades level up weapons, gold upgrades don't. - Make sure to also complete secondaries, it's extra gold. - Next, you can't overclock weapons with yellow/red icon on them, they first need to be upgraded to lvl 12 once. Also, when you are presented with upgrades there's an indicator to the left of each option, which for overclockable weapons shows overclock levels, and for not yet overclockable weapons it just tracks progress to level 12. - Another thing is gray/common upgrades can sometimes be preferrable to "colored" if they level up a weapon, because it takes you closer to an overclock. Same applies to paint jobs. - Don't be afraid to bait explosions it's almost a core mechanic. Can be exploited to mine minerals, too.

Yes started playing after watching Leths 1st video. I agree with all these points. Priorities gold and nitra for upgrades. Run around early to find all the deposits.

Also, I would say use the mini map more. It has the locations of the secondary objectives.

Isolated white dots on the minimap show where you can find objectives or the permanent upgrade ores. Seems it's more necessary in magma core since it's hard to see them in the molten rock patches.
