Grant I’m recently getting back into golf after back injury (I’m only 18😭) and I’ve watched good good for years I’ve watched all individual channels and to be honest, you and the DOD king are the only people who keep me just loving the sport through KZbin and make me want to play and keep me positive, thank you so much for that! And I love your openness about your relationship to Christ and you are really such an amazing person to look up to. I haven’t had a ton of money to go play but I’ve been trying to get out , I used to be a 2 handicap but I’m probably around 15 right now😂 the swing has made big changes but hopefully within a few rounds I can get it back! I know you probably won’t see this, but my dream would be to play a round of golf with you, I’m missing a few clubs but it never gets in the way! I don’t expect anyone to ever respond to these comments and I’m not begging for anything by any means but more of a thank you for all of the good spirits and helping me be more open of my relationship with God and always being positive! I hope the videos keep coming I love to watch em all!

6 wraps with a midsize is wild. Have you ever just tried the jumbo size? 6 wraps under any grip would make it super firm. Obviously it's working for you though but a jumbo would feel so nice and not like concrete.
@DrH904 ай бұрын
Elite Fit Golf actually just made a pretty interesting video about the difference extra tape makes. It’s super minimal which surprised me since you see pro’s that have to have specific amounts of tape. He used five strips of masking tape which he said was roughly 3 strips of double sided tape and it increased the grip size less than 1/100 of an inch.
@nomorenonsense4 ай бұрын
@@DrH90I was a custom club fitter and worked for some of the top brands in Canada for 20 years. If you use real quality golfworks grip tape it is actually very thick. There are cheaper brands out who make it very thin. 4 wraps of quality tape change the grip from standard to midsize and so on. So I disagree with your statement that proper tape doesn't effect it much. You can see in the video there is a huge build up of tape. That is going to change the feel like crazy. Pros can tell the difference immediately if one wrap is missing. Many pros even place a few half wraps under their bottom righthand to limit their hand turning over (limited taper). If that is 6 wraps of quality grip tape that is the most I have ever seen in 20 years and 100,000 grips lol.
@DrH904 ай бұрын
@@nomorenonsense interesting. I wonder if you were using a different sized double sided tape than Elite Fit Golf was? Either way, pretty cool that you were a club fitter. I’ve just recently started changing my own grips and even turned my putter into an armlock about six months ago for fun.
@nomorenonsense4 ай бұрын
I only ever used real golfworks grip tape. Many companies cheap out on thin grip tape that costs half of the real stuff. Real tape is 2 times thicker than normal masking tape to give an idea. Real tape also isn't see through like a lot of the stuff seen on Amazon. So imagine wrapping a club in 24 thick layer of masking tape. That's a lot of thickness lol. Also remember to count the grip tape thickness twice of each wrap. 6 wraps equals 12 layers x 0.015 thick = 0.18 inches. That's a massive change.
