The worst part is some university students have to live in rooms like that. At my alma mater of 50k+ students, there were students that would be put in large spare rooms made into dorms that were called “supplemental” housing. Basically 5-8 students of the same gender living in a big ass room. Some of the rooms were shitty- spacious but shit. Some were kinda cool with that industrial living vibe. But yeah, overflow students were, uh, not always envied. 😂

With tall walls, you can potentially mimic having two floors with platforms
@erinkay2182 жыл бұрын
But the floor beneath the platform wouldn’t be useable so it would be taking floor space. It wouldn’t be more space.
@Astrid-882 жыл бұрын
@@erinkay218 There are tricks to make functional rooms "under" a platform. You basically make platform walls with big items "upstairs" like a bed sort of hanging from the walls, mostly in the air (functional if done properly) and putting furniture under the hanging items (a bed, couch or a rug "upstairs" is the ceiling of the "room" underneath). It's tricky but it works and you can actually have almost 2 rooms in a place of one.
@dominic.h.33632 жыл бұрын
Just downloaded it from the gallery and played with the layout a bit: If you ditched the rather pointless 2-person dining table in this 8-person home, you could put the couch against the middle bunk bed, a coffee table against the wall in front of it, a larger TV on the coffee table, and if you use a corner piece counter (which still counts as a counter but is much, much smaller) and move the entire kitchen to the entrance (where your couch is), you have space left between this new kitchen and the new coffee table for an easel, and then you can put a functional dream home decorator hanging closet at the place where now that tiny TV is, you can even put a shoe rack underneath. (Everything will remain functional, you will have a larger TV, an easel, and a dresser. You can gain even more space if you use the stockier tiny home dresser instead of an entire coffee table, you can still put a TV on it, and that frees up the corner between the entrance and bathroom door for something else, and half the space the coffee table occupied.)

I usually play 8-12 (with bigger families cheat) sims at once so there is no challenge for me. I am actually bored with just 2-5 sims. I usually make "neighbors" (8-10 young adult sims move in together to a place with a lot of single person flats and as some of them get married and some move out I make them "rent" the single sim flat "next door" and refurnish their flats to fit their new 2 adults+some children familie). It starts with 8-10 young adults and ends with 2-3 families with kids. It also works with siblings living together and starting their own families on the same lot. I will often make like 2-3 houses on a lot too. It makes it easy to move in because there is always someone living on the lot already and there are still "empty" houses of flats to be taken. And since you don't need to buy the house I pretend the sims are paying rent. I use SimNationalBank mod to make them actually pay rent (shared money) and collect their own money (private bank account) by making them put 30-70% of their income into their private account (which they can then use when they move out and look for their own house) and the the 70-30% goes into the shared money used to pay bills and buy furniture for everyone use. The only problem is the sims are not really smart with uses of fridge and counters with multiple of them on a lot so I usually make a shared area where they all cook and eat all their meals. Like a cafeteria or a bar.

Have an extra wide and extra high roof. Make it rounded up so it's edges are almost vertical. Then, make it accessible. Instant fully usable attic. Who need a trash can on the lot when there are public trash cans nearby ? Your Sims will happily use the closest public trash can available when there are none on the terrain. If you have Seasons, you don't need those planters. You can plant your garden pretty much anywhere on the terrain. It's just that some plants refuse to get planted right next to another.

I always love these vids! But petition to make a hotdog themed house for Stanley with his hotdog family and hotdog dog😂

Cool build but here's where Simsie could have maximized space. Use the mini fridge from university and the countertop oven from dream home decorator. It slots on-top and then book, an extra tile

the fact they haven’t added the shower head to basegame is really upsetting bc i don’t wanna have to buy one of the two most god awful game packs just for that one item

Can/do you use mods? Not sure if you need the pack, but there are similar showers on TSR. And Madhox has a build a shower kit
