Make one clock for each of your kids. My dad made beautiful cradles for each of his kid’s families. We love to let each of our grandchildren use them now. Maybe thats something you could do. But make them something for sure. My dad didn’t do much wood working. So having a piece from him means so much to my family and my children. Now my grand babies are starting to sleep in it. The clock was AMAZING. I was so proud of you!! You blow my mind with all your talent. The best part of the whole video was watching you give DIY Dollie a kiss and tell her you loved her. AWH…that melted my heart. The love you have for her is so obvious and deep. I am so glad you two have each other!! Our pets are family. They are usually the ones who are always happy to see us, wag their tails, console us when we are sad, listen when we are mad, snuggle when we are tired, give loves when we don’t feel well. Etc. I just can’t imagine life without them. And I can tell how much DIY Dollie means to you. Thanks for sharing with us!

My father helped me build some curved steps going down to my den. He took the plywood that was precut for the steps and soaked it in water and was able to bend the plywood around the curve of the steps and didn’t weaken the plywood at all. Just thought that tip might come in handy at one point in time. My dad liked working with wood and taught me a few tips. Your husband was giving you good tips too. Have a blessed day!

I’m so glad that you always stretch yourself to do more. The clock is gorgeous! My father-in-law built grandfather clocks. He cut up walnut trees and dried them and made his clocks out of walnut. They were gorgeous! He sold a few. I can’t remember what he got for them, but it was a lot of work.

OHHHH MY!!!!!! You once again NAILED IT! Ironically since 16 years old my 2 most favorite things to decorate with are mantles & clocks!!! My first mantle was at 16 & a piece of garbage that someone was throwing away. It was wood but needed sanding & paint….I could figure that out! Then my love for CLOCKS!! In my early 20s I discovered “unfinished furniture” stores (even JC Penny used to carry pieces)…so once again, paint & embellishments like yours! NOW……ohhhhh I have gotten the bug!!! You did an awesome job! 😊 If I may offer a piece of advice, however, it would be to never wear gloves when working with power tools which have a blade or a bit (any saw, drill, router, etc). If you were to hit a knot, get bound up, or any one of a ton of other oops scenarios, having on gloves could cause your hand to be pulled into a spinning blade or bit, with disastrous consequences. I used to do it too, but thankfully I was given this same advice a couple of years ago. I hope this helps someone. ❤

Way to go Ms Natalee. Mighty brave but you nailed it. Ann from Va. by the way I am still working on my two bathrooms cabinets. I just finished the fourth coat of spay paint. I will hand sand the finished with 800 grit sand paper. I did have help from my brother making the doors and we also made the drawers as well. It will be so nice when I finished. We had the floors done too. All of this because you inspired me to take on my two bathrooms and a laundry room on the quest bathroom. ❤

What I would like to know is, how long do projects take? It’s not to discourage anyone but I would like to know how long I should take off work to do some projects. We know everyone has things to do with family etc but I would like to know was it a week, two weeks?

This took me about 4 days or so… stopping many times to be mom, taking meetings… go back to the hardware store. Each project varies. This was a little more time consuming than most of my projects. Thank you!

I meant to say the sign post, I loved the lamppost but the sign post I made and use in my window of my shop. It is the best thing that I have ever made and is used all the time. I just have to finish making curtains for my home and then Im going to have a go at the clock!
