I bought a 2000 Honda Hornet 600s in September for £700. Needed a service,fork seals +oil, carb clean, two tyres and a tank flush. Cost to-date is £1140.

I bought a 60,000 1996 Yamaha Diversion 900 for £1000 five years ago as a commuter / winter hack. It never missed a beat, and last year did a two up 3,000 mile in three week tour of Europe because my BMW's clutch gave up just before leaving. It got the bare minimum maintenance and only cost me in tyres oil and filters. Just saying

I got a zxr6 2000 2 years ago for £1390 brilliant buy... I would say £1500 is a good price for a nice old bike

I had a Sprint ST; didn't like the top heavy feel to it so moved it on. The triple engine though was excellent.

I just sold a absolutely immaculate 600 Fazer with every conceivable extra for one thousand pounds. Twenty nine thousand miles and full service history. It was up for sale for two thousand pounds along with other people's fazers, they never sold. Talking about Hondas i have a 2001 cb500s which I have owned from new. 141,ooo miles original clutch, silencer,waterpump, carburettors, front forks.please don't knock Hondas.
