TF is this intro !? Everybody in the working field knows that there is no such thing as complaining, ranting or sarcasm. those are the magic words to get sh*t done. its like a magic spell that looses rusted bolts and stuck stubborn components of any kind. Please never justify yourself for being a normal human being ever again. Those bitter and overly demanding mouthbreathing armchair experts only want you to supply them with joy that they lack themself. they just cant stand being faced with reality. Your character and content is spot-on, please never change. We normal people are here for the real deal. Keep up the good work!

Wes I genuinely love your personality. When you complain about a project and show the struggles, it keeps it real. Watching you not complaining is creepy as heck. When you've got a shitty job to do like cleaning mouse house, complaining is required, and you do it without gloves! It's cool seeing the twin-h pattern on the White tractor. I'm currently working on my Dad's Oliver Super 55 circa perhaps 1956 and I remember as a 10 year old how frustrating it was to get that transmission into the gear Dad wanted you to put it in. He had me running the tractor so he could stack bales behind the baler. I remember several breakdowns of the 10 year old crying variety until one time I knocked over a fencepost and he just chuckled and said it's all right. After that I sorta realized that Dad was yelling at me to be heard over the machinery, not necessarily because I was screwing up so bad.

As I am a certified GOM (Grumpy Old Man), I'd say you've not reached peak complaints per hour yet. As to the mice, discharge of a C02 fire extinguisher in the cab will see them scurrying away or paying for staying. Quantity and duration of application at your discretion.

Sign me up" or when you spill a bunch of oil all over the floor and you miss the oil painting you say" glad I didn't make a mess" that's what we're here for. A home owner, shade tree, mechanic of some auto, lawn tractors, chain saws. I can identify with the complaining about work sometimes. I am trying to improve, but sometimes my complaining includes very long strings of expletives. Recently, a string of expletives came out, looked to the street for passerby's that may have heard me. Lucked out, none were around. Based on personal experience, I would say your complaining is done in a very professional manner, and is not excessive.

No apologies, I work on Fords and I reserve the right to complain about how they never once asked a repair shop for input on ease of service. I have never once thought you complained too much. If you didn't complain about one sided engineering I would think you have a serious problem. Looks like they found a seat and built the tractor and decided they needed to keep it dry and built a cab to protect the seat.

You have every right to complain about the things you encounter as a mechanic. You keep it real all the time and I love it. It seems like common sense went out the window and the engineers in the late 80's and through the 90's were just plain stupid. Keep doing what you do and showing us all of the fun stuff you find. I Love it.

On my brother's stuff, whenever the machines are down for longer repairs, i swap the cables for armored ones and modify the interiors to not allow rodents in. Double layer copper mesh over vents and where things need to go through i put a piece of thick rubber around the cables and pour or smear epoxy with ground glass inside. The cables can still move a bit, but the gaps are closed off otherwise. It's impossible to get rid of mice, but you can take steps to make their little lives difficult. They are like thieves in that respect, it's about making it painfully difficult, more than it is about security (lightly paraphrased, early days LockPickingLawyer about home security, locks etc).
