I love everything about this false 100%+. It's unedited long form with failed attempts, there's Josh with fluffy hair and the Mona Lisa bit, we get some singing during the minigame, hilarious "discoveries" like the brightness setting affecting stealth and just generally a different vibe thanks to the ps2 version looking so good and seeing Josh do "new" things in SA after all this time. Been watching this over the last week in small chunks and can't wait for the next part

Yeah, there is quite heavy BS is going on with the dancing (1:54:35). If you look frame by frame, input visualiser shows a button press almost before the icon even touches the circle, yet it still says perfect and lights up at correct time

I've been playing this on PCSX2 and i think that what gets rid of the orange filter is an option in the Patches section of the game properties. If "Remove radiosity filter" is enabled, disable it. If it's already disabled or it's just not there, then I dunno. Loved this stream btw, can't wait to see the 100%.

This is the issue. For me, patches are a bit bugged now and dont turn off properly, so try to disable it, restsrt emulator and start new game/load game from memory card, dont load savestate.

just fyi, you didn't do so well on the Cesar Vialpando lowrider minigame most likely because of the emulator input lag - - if you're used to real hardware controls, the couple of frames of delay on emulator controls can do a lot

6:46:23 - that's actually weird, I've watched "555 We Tip" gameplays from whole lot of SA versions (PC, PC DE, X360, PS2) and everywhere it says "Hell of a defense" instead of "Eloquent defense". I guess it might be dependant on PS2 version (like NTSC vs PAL or something, I dunno, never had PS2)?

Retro Achievements has always been a mixed bag to me. It's a fun concept for sure, but I think some achievement makers on the site go WAY too difficult and/or specific with them. Which makes some games not fun to get them all in. Also a bit annoying how they can create a set, then add more later and thus kinda undoing your completion. I can't wait to see how GTA fares!

I think the person who said you have to get fat before unlocking the gym got confused between the Smoke and Sweet phonecalls. IIRC Sweet has three different phonecalls for unlocking gyms, for when CJ is skinny (99% of the time), muscular, and fat

I started new playtrought of Far Cry 2 just few days ago decided to 100% at max difficulty and was hoping there was steam achievements for the game. Sadly its not even on the retro achievments but thanks for making me aware of the community. What a coincidence. Thanks for uncut content, love it.

You know what would be an insidious achievement? Simultaneously control 57 territories. So you'll need to not skip a specific phone-call after the third Catalina mission, which ensures that the VLA territories are correctly transferred over to the Vagos. Then you need to take over all 57 territories before Los Desperados, or else 4 territories will be conceded back to the VLA and cannot be taken over again

Though the Definitive Edition is rough at best, I was happy after all these years to: 1: Beat the game without cheats, 2: Beat the game 100%, and 3: Get all achievements. Same with Vice City and 007 Goldeneye. Such satisfaction now as an adult.

Why Burger Shot courier while wanted? I have to imagine it's because you have to drive around on a motorbike for it and the wanted level makes that hard... I fit was "get a tattoo" or something like that, you'd just be able to go there in a helicopter, drop in and drop out... (and I'm sure the "while wanted" stipulation is because they know about the 0 star glitch).

I remember there being some "radiosity" setting/hack in the emulator that helps SA, that being said when I tried it at least a year ago the filter was there I believe, but it had weird effects/artifacts on screen and such (at least without the setting?) There are some popular games that don't actually have achievements yet, since it's up to whatever the devs feel like making achievements for, sometimes you have obscure demos/hacks with achievements, while I think gta vice city has only gotten achievements recently after SA (or perhaps it's still in the process). Sometimes you also have different versions of the same game where only some of them have achievements, other times they all do and in many cases they attempt to focus on different/exclusive achievements for each one

40:09 There is a different phonecall from Sweet if you are fat, it's interesting this achievement list did miss that one. If you have to "tell Woozie about your deadly accident with Millie" then hearing sweet tell you that your "fat to muscle ratio, that's what's up!" Should be one too

San fierro has missed potential such as like make Jizzy escape on green Pizza boy during Ice cold Killa jump into train during snail trail never detected during amphibious assault (idk how to spell) colect every package without killing bikers during that one mission for Jizzy forgot name also heck why not reach bayside before unlocking neither flint or bone country without triggering 4 star wanted level

I think gnag territories might be faster to complete by using a rhino rather than minigun strats. It feels a bit faster to clear the ballas, and a lot safer

Would be cool if there was an achievement of reaching level 5 (full level 12 would be too grindy and not very fun) paramedic at every hospital there is, as paramedic is pretty different depending on what hospital you choose to be your "home"

In my case, there was a patch in the game options inside the emulator that was disabling the filter. It was called "Remove Radiosity Filter". when i turned it off the filter came back.

@@ninjaskillzyt if "Remove radiosity filter" is disabled, then there's like a slight ghosting effect on things and characters during cutscenes, but it's not very noticeable, or maybe my eyes just suck. Well worth it for the original ps2 look tho.

@@mikejameson7678 nah, i mean more like some Story-related (unmissable) achievements, then they add some grindy achievements (like kill 200 ppl) then maybe a time achievement (like end the game in 2 hrs) and the classic "dificulty achievement" some games had a lot stuff you can do that deserve recognition with a useless award hahahaha Do you saw the official achievements for the Defective Edition? they are boring to get :C

I did this a few years ago. 100% in just 7 days, If I remember correctly it took me about 40h. and I was playing on a laptop, without a mouse😅. The girlfriends are the most annoying thing.
