@@MikeeonKZbin4 Haha, my way would have been to pull the rod out and leave the barrel on the machine! Thank you so much for watching!

It's always satisfying and gratifying to get something repaired yourself. So far, the biggest thing I've had to work on was a 42" cut Huskee riding mower. One day, I'll own some nice equipment I can break. Until then, I just keep breaking me.

It is! Doing a hydraulic cylinder rebuild for the first time was a bit nerve-wracking. You don't know what you don't know! Thankfully it worked out in the end.

The nut will work fine just tighten it up very tight use a good lever

I figured as much, I wonder if a nylock nut is as effective in oil as it usually is. I added a good dose of Loctite for cheap insurance

Thanks! Not being able to pull the rod off the machine through me for a loop. I am glad it worked out in the end. The next cylinders on the list to rebuild are the loader bucket clamshell cylinders, they leak pretty bad. There is always something to do!

You can also drill a small hole in the nut tap it and put in a grub screw

That is a great idea if I had the time. I was rushing because the state health inspector was coming the next day to inspect septic test holes.
