Perfectly illustrates the flaws in LabelRadars 20s snippet submission. Fellow producers just remember a rejection based on a snippet isn’t necessarily a reflection of your song as a whole 😊

Really enjoyed this video, it’s great to see people outside of the NCS community discovering all these songs, and I hope that this becomes a series! Also as someone who got into this community through ranking videos, here are what I think the general consensus is for most of these songs for people who are interested: Diviners - Tropic Love (ft. Contacreast) [LOVED] - Surprised to see this one here tbh, I'm not the biggest fan of this one personally so I wouldn't say I'm the best person to advocate for it, but I think the love for this comes from it being popular and "nostalgic" without being as overplayed as something like On & On. Diviners is also a fan favourite house artist on the label, so I think that helps as well. bvd kult - VIP [HATED] - This one is super basic dnb to most people, plus this song is kind of a meme for the "chickenstep" vocal chops in the drops. KIRA - New World [LOVED] - Kinda obvious why this is so popular, it's gorgeous synthpop with a (by NCS standards) low viewcount so it's also "underrated". Syntact - Ego [LOVED] - It's a long overdue comeback for a one-off artist who has another fan favourite song in the community, this style of glitch-hop is just super nostalgic to a lot of people as well. WATEVA - dead! [HATED] - WATEVA is definitely one of the more derided artists on NCS + making bass house with a weird lead sound is an easy way to get a lot of dislike from the ranking community. Rebel Scum, Dani King & Centrix - Calm Before The Storm [LOVED] - I guess this stands out to a lot of people during NCS' Trap Nation wannabe days of 2019-20, personally I don't really get it. Four Eyes - Psycho [LOVED] - Has a really high dislike ratio so the ranking community roots for it, but Complextro is a genre a lot of rankers are nostalgic for. Facading - Take It Down [HATED] - The drop playing in the video is a complete and total CTRL C + CTRL V from the third - and worst - drop of Facading's previous song Walk Away (plus there's an Ableton midtempo that sound very similar), there's very little evolution and the buildups have no energy. Jim Yosef & Anna Yvette - Linked [HATED] - This is pretty much the Melodymania Vocal Edit of NCS, plus this is one of those songs that people consider to be overplayed. Dropouts - Unity (ft. Aloma Steele) [LOVED] - Nostalgic commercial house that isn't overplayed, panders to a lot of the community but probably doesn't do much if the style doesn't connect. Clarx - Shakedown - Slow future house with a weird decaying lead, plus Clarx is a one-trick pony in terms of song ideas as well. K.Safo & Alex Skrindo - Future Vibes (ft. Stewart Wallace) (Uplink Remix) [LOVED] - This sort of style is both super nostalgic and not that common on NCS, plus the original song is quite liked as well I'm pretty sure... Electro-Light - Symbolism Pt.III [HATED] - Symbolism is a nostalgic track for a lot of people, so making a worse remake of it wasn't going to go down well regardless, plus this was released in 2022 so it sounds incredibly dated and out of place. MAGNUS - Talk Is Cheap (ft. VinDon) [HATED] - "Empty" bass house tends to get a pretty bad rep within the community, so this song obviously fell victim to that. PLEEG - Spirit [LOVED] - PLEEG has been an artist with a distinct style and a solid fanbase for a while now, plus this style just obviously clicked with a lot of people.

As a NCS Ranker I am excited to see the songs. 1). Tropic Love is soooo nostalgic and beautiful! Love Diviners! Definitely loved 78/100 2). VIP by bvd kult. Cool enough and not that special. I know this one is not loved. I gave it a 73/100 3). A New World by KIRA!! SO BEAUTIFUL. That has to be loved! 85/100. Oh yeah thank god! 4). Ego by Syntact. That one is loved purely because of the comeback and shallow. 72/100 cool tho. 5). Dead! No not loved 😂 WATEVA did a good job tho. I like it. 74/100. 6). CALM BEFORE THE STORM?! YES! Loved for sure! 100/100!! Last drop is amazing. You should have played that part. 🔥🔥🔥 7). Psycho is pretty cool. Love the vibe. But I think it’s hated. Idk tbh. 83/100. OH?! Loved?! Wow. 8). Take It Down by Facading. He has made some cool New Beat. But this one was a sort of rip-off from walk away. This one is hated. For me a solid song 75/100. 9). Linked! I love Jim and Anna! Loved!!! For sure! 78/100 HATED?! WHAT?! 10). Unity is loved. 72/100 not really for me tho.

imo it’s the best direction they can go for if they want to keep the label fresh and desirable for upcoming and growing artists
@yaska7399
@yaska7399 Жыл бұрын
@@LGalaxy I think the best thing for NCS to do for the future is to actually achieve a balance of uniqueness and experimental stuff in electronic music as well as commercial replayability (aka the "genericness and mainstreamness") so they don't completely fall off and die with lesser and lesser views. Otherwise it's just all unique and experimental stuff, but no large audience for it. And if there's no large audience, there is no revenue for NCS. They need to grab on to the mainstream somehow to retain their position in the music industry, to retain their high view counts and provide something for general people. NCS has always had a large audience behind its success, so it still needs that large audience. The way they could do that now, is make NCS the center for mainstream, commercialized music, which will attract many people who listen to more "surface-level" mainstream music to the label. Using other platforms like TikTok for this is beneficial, like they are doing. And, because they have a sublabel now, all the unique and underground stuff can be released on Arcade, for newer or smaller artists with something unique to offer for electronic music specifically. So a combination of both what Lostwrld said and LGalaxy said. Releasing both mainstream music and underground music is the most financially succesful, healthy and diverse way to keep NCS popular and growing in the future, in my opinion. This is especially convenient to execute now, since they have a sublabel. There'll be music for people that aren't really into the underground or experimental EDM scene, and then there also will be music for people into that. A mix of both will keep the label healthy. And above all, NCS should strive to always represent genre and style diversity on the label, not really focusing on anything too much (unlike the loads of future house or DnB they've signed recently), and instead giving a spotlight for various different styles of electronic music (and even music in general) constantly. If NCS heads to the only unique and experimental route and nothing else, their views and retention will keep dwindling until to the point they can't sustain going forward with the label and might need to shut down. If they only focus on mainstream music, they fail to provide for the audience of the underground electronic music scene, which many of us are for example. So I think they should focus on both for keeping both sides in check and simultaneously growing as a dynamic and multidimensional label, with music to offer for various different people looking for various different styles of music.

From what I've seen in the NCS ranking community, the opinions are very different than from the average fan. Below is what I interpret every song as being from that community: 1. Very loved, people tend to find songs like these very nice and nostalgic. Personal opinion: Average 2. Very hated, people don't like what's called "chickenstep", and find the chicken type vocal chops to be very annoying. Person opinion: Good 3. Extremely loved, super popular among the ranking community, has a very spacey and nostalgic sound that people like. Person opinion: Amazing 4. Extremely loved, glitch hop is generally loved in the ranking community and this is no different, very catchy for most people. Person opinion: Phenomenal 5. Very hated, his is one of 2 ping-pong style songs on NCS, and the style is found to be very annoying by people in the community. Personal opinion: Below Average 6. Extremely love, there are hardly any people in the community that I've seen who don't like this, and everyone else seems to love it, including me. Personal opinion: Phenomenal 7. Loved, this song has been hated by a lot of casual fans from what I've seen, but in general it is loved by the ranking community. Personal opinion: Good 8. Hated, very unpopular among the ranking community for basically being a more basic version of his previous tracks on NCS. Personal opinion: Solid 9. In the middle, I've seen a pretty big split between people who love it and people who hate it, but no real edge towards either side. Personal opinion: Good 10. Loved, has a very nostalgic sound that people in the community really like, there's a very strong taste for older house songs in the ranking community and this is one of them. Personal opinion: Meh 11. Disliked, people in the community for the most part to be too basic and boring, but there are definitely some who love the catchiness factor of it. Personal opinion: Phenomenal 12. Unbelievable loved, I can't recall a single member of the community who has EVER said anything negative about this song, and I would agree. Personal opinion: Great 13. Very hated, people in the community are pretty split on the original and tend to like the 2nd one, but don't like this one due to assuming it's view hunting and finding the drops to not be as nostalgic as the other 2. Personal opinion: Great 14. Hated, I've seen some people in the community who like this chill deep/bass house style but in general it's a little generic compared to the rest of the ep it came out with, and people don't really like the repetitiveness in the community. Personal opinion: Bad 15. Loved, people in the community find it very catchy, although not as much as some of his other songs, but is overall loved for its chill and catchy nature. Personal opinion: Amazing Awesome video and hopes this series comes back in the future!

8/15. Here are a few of my thoughts. Helps that I actually listened to dead by WATEVA and I hated that track. Take It Down by Facading sounds like the kind of midtempo that bores me. Shakedown I actually liked as well. I said hated for Future Vibes (Uplink Remix) just because of the chipmunk vocals. Talk is Cheap I was able to guess hated because the percussion mixing is off, even though I like it.

I grew up in the '90s listing and loving Electronic music but the thing I don't understand what do you kids mean it's too repetitive that's how music is made back in the day that was considered the groove of the tracks but since you kids aren't going to clubs and are just listening to this music through your phones and laptops I guest I can understand why you all would call it repetitive.because y'all arent in live settings hearing this music

interesting take, and i totally get your point. personally i never was in any dance club or on a concert (because where i live there are no any, but i'd love to try it out someday), but i can see how home listening is very different from listening to the same track through big speakers or somewhere where the atmosphere is way different. the thing about repetitiveness is, in my opinion, that i don't believe repetitiveness is necessarily a bad thing overall, but the producer have to make sure to mask this feeling of repetitiveness, either by changing very small things in the track or for the sake of world-building or creating atmosphere. the best example would be progressive house which i enjoy every now and then, which technically can be repetitive and they can get pretty long, but is still fun and great to listen. the best example i can think of would be deadmau5's stuff.

Hey that's totally fair! There are obviously a lot of reasons at play for why tracks feel more repetitive, despite being substantially shorter. Yes, attention span being one of them. But I think, for me personally, it's the context in which it's repetitive. If it's a longer, 6+ minute track made for clubs or with a building beat, I anticipate some "repetitiveness" and embrace it because I understand the purpose in which it was created for. On the opposite side, if a song is like 2-3 minutes and feels "repetitive", it feels like a waste of already short time you've got with the track. I personally am a fan of longer, "repetitive" tracks, but it feels like you really gotta dig to find them nowadays!

@@BowtiedMedia Bowtied Media hi Bowtied cool episode I get exactly what your saying there's a huge difference between Electronic music from the past vs. now obviously because EDM has a certain type of sound too it that it can get a bit annoying lol i thought about it after i wrote my comment i have to agree that it does unlike what they use to call Electronica or IDM in the '90s which focused more on organic sounds while EDM does have a more computerized sound.
