Can I Learn EVERY TRIGGER Before 2.2? (Geometry Dash)

2.2 is closer than ever, and with it will come over 80 NEW TRIGGERS, but this made me realize: I don't even know how to use the 14 that are already in the game. Today, I'll be going through every trigger in Geometry Dash and trying to learn how it works WITHOUT looking it up online!

What this essentially means is that as soon the trigger activates, the trigger will start counting, but because the count trigger hasn't been activated before picking up the items, the count trigger doesn't know that you have picked the items up + there are no items after the trigger 17:44 Also the reason you figured out the instant count trigger but not the regular count trigger is because of their one major difference, one is an event listener, while the other is a "spawn trigger with an 'if' check". Essentially, the instant count trigger acts exactly like a spawn trigger but **ONLY IF** the condition is met (in this case, the "picked up coins" count is equal or larger than the amount of coins that you should've picked up at that moment)

Spawn Trigger is really handy for loops or when you're looking to activate multiple triggers, All it does is force the group to activate with the option of a time delay. For example say you want ground spikes move up and down in a wave pattern, Instead of spacing move triggers every time you want this effect, You can set up a chain at the start of the level that activates the next move after a 0.1 delay, Now every time you want the effect all you need is a single Spawn Trigger in that location.

@@Pixelton Spawn Loops are quite simple to setup, Once the Spawn Trigger is activated it will automaticly activate all other triggers in the group you input. Let's say you have 3 Groups: Group 1 contains a Spawn and a Move, The Move Trigger will move Group 3 a single block to the right and the Spawn Trigger will activate Group 2 with a small delay (You can set it the same time it takes to move). Now inside Group 2 you have another Spawn and Move, This time the Move Trigger will move Group 3 a single block to the left and the Spawn Trigger will activate Group 1 after a delay. The last thing you need to make sure is that all those triggers have the "Spawn Triggered" and "Multi Trigger" option enabled, Now the moment either Group 1 or 2 gets activated they will keep going back and forth.

The follow trigger is extremly useful as you can use it to create a parallax effect as well as use it in combination with the move triggers follow target to make some complex effect. It honestly might be my favourite trigger.

SDslayer one use for the “follow” trigger is putting a H block on top of your cube and then just hold mouse down boom 10,000,000,000 jumps added to your total. Another thing is story telling, your cube has a pickaxe in the story? Make a pickaxe art and make it follow your cube. Very cool 👍

Regular count triggers when are activated, are actually waiting until the number count reaches a certain number. And when this appens it executes its thing. So try to move the count trigger before the coins

Count trigger always checks for the required amount, and if a trigger is spawn triggered, it can be activated by toggling it on. Thats how stuff works around here.

follow triggers are really good for dynamic parallax (you can change the speed of the entire part) and they can also follow rotations so if you layer rotation follows you can create a wobbly effect (oh also it makes use target actually useful since that option on move triggers can only move one object at a time)

you did everything good with count trigger but there was one mistake: you must trigger the count trigger before you start counting you put count trigger at the end so it activated after the counting finished so it didn't detect anything

for the count trigger you need to do group id for the move trigger .ex : you make 44 the group of move trigger and then make the group id on the count trigger 44. You will make the wall 45 th and setup the moove trigger so it will open the wall.

Dynamic Block is only for Collision Blocks that MOVE. Static Collision Blocks can still function with Dynamic Block, but aren't necessary. The more Dynamic Blocks you have, the laggier your level is.

The main problem with most of the triggers in this game is that they can easily be done with other triggers, instant count can be made with a move trigger, toggle triggers can be made with a move trigger, just harder to make, etc.

So what was wrong with the count trigger: Basically, unlike the instant count, the trigger has to be placed before all of the items or just before the last one so that by collecting any of the items it updates to the actual item count. You placed it later than any items so it never had a chance to update and activate the thing you wanted to activate

I have a question, my son loves this game and has an old pc and wants something better to play gd without lag and ugly graphics. I'm on a budget and don't know much about specs. What do you recommend in terms of specs to get him a new laptop with which he can enjoy the modded levels?

to be honest, there's a fair chance it's not really your fault GD is not a very well optimized game so even on PCs that cost more than $2,000, some of the best levels still don't run very well. I believe the game will run better when the next update comes out. If the game still runs slowly there then I'm not sure on specifics but I've been able to run the game decently on any gaming laptop and I'm sure there are affordable lower end ones out there
