Great job on this flip!! I couldn't believe when that breather tube came plopping out of the engine; that was hilarious! Thanks for another great video!

Skid steer projects? Nice! I’m hoping to pivot away from mower content towards ATV’s and heavy equipment etc.I’ll probably still have occasional mower projects, but that’s the direction I’d like to head.
@FenrirFabrication8 ай бұрын
Very nice, On my little channel I mainly focus on re-powering vintage skid steers and other small construction equipment. Trucks and the occasional mower as a flip to fund the much more expensive skid steer projects. I just love bringing equipment that was scrapyard bound, or already there back to life and putting it to work. I’ve been watching you for quite a while and like seeing the zero turns and higher end equipment popping up as a new projects for you to flip.

If I find one at a good price, I will definitely pick one up. Would be a fun little project. Currently on the hunt for a broken mini excavator to complement my little fleet of mini skid steers. Sadly I had a terramite backhoe sell out from under me a few months back..

They are very capable yet crude machines. Mine is pretty beat but still does all I need it to, so I can’t complain! Have you looked at the cheap import excavators that are available these days? Or would you prefer an old ‘name’ brand one?

Interesting seat fix, I might have to try similar on an old lawn tractor seat.

I actually tried that but didn’t think it looked too good. A little black paint would probably be perfect

@@garagestoryl use paint markers, the type you use for marking bare steel, they cover up glues, caulk, etc, perfectly. They're excellent for touching up equipment as they come in all the basic colours.

That would be perfect for this application! Where do you normally buy yours? And how long do they stay good for?

@@garagestoryI get mine through my local CaseIH dealer, but you can get them at most welding supply places, napa, Amazon, etc. If you keep the lid on they can last a few years easily.

@@garagestoryNot sure why but my original reply can't be seen, but if you google paint pen you'll find they're pretty easy to find. As for how long they last, usually a few years if you keep the lid on them and have them stood on end with the marking end up.

I’m trying a couple flips, got a 2018 Deere x380 with 1075 hours, $900 last fall. Put 2 new front tires, driver spindle broke on first use, and oil changes, traded in to dealer for 2100 towards a used 2023 x590!

Those are nice garden tractors! I had an X320 for awhile and liked it.

You should have washed it and armoralled the tires. You would have got $1800 easy. Also, instead of wasting time with changing the head gasket, get yourself a compression tester. You would have saved time and make more $$$. I also would have left the old valve cover. All in all good job as you are learning. I admire you take the time to do things where some professional shops say they did it and rip you off.
@garagestory14 күн бұрын
Thank you! I do actually have a compression tester. I don’t think the head gasket really needed to be replaced. I was just going off what I’d seen about vapor in the crank case and it scared me that maybe I had a bad head gasket. At the least it was a good learning experience, and at the most maybe it really was on its way out.

Where do you buy all your parts from? Have you ever had to buy wheel/tire combos? I’m looking for a place to buy them at a cheaper than Toro pricing.
@garagestory8 ай бұрын
I buy my parts from various places: eBay, Amazon, dealership/mower shop and also various other online stores. Just depends on what I’m getting. I don’t think I’ve bought a wheel/tire combo recently. Usually for just tires I go to eBay.
