I'm a death doula who is in a volunteer position at the moment. Working on getting my CNA. I do a lot of early death care, as in I'm a caretaker before their death, and I love it. I realized that this is my calling after being in this situation with my great grandmother. I'm thrilled to have found this out about myself and will forever thank my grandma and God for helping me realize this passion of mine. ❤ If anyone has any questions about anything feel free to reply and ask! 😊

I would like to become a death doula just that we don't have such services in my country.

When I was in high school I wanted to go to school to be a funeral director but never followed that path because it was “to macabre”. I have always felt called to it and I love your approach. I definitely feel like I need to join this movement.

Dr. Kevorkian was a death doula, in theory, huh? I admired his work but that sentiment was considered weird and morbid. His work, in my opinion was the kindest courtesy you could offer to those who wish to move on into their next phase of transition. Since it is consider assisted m* in most countries, I do more research in order to qualify and perform this specialty...I would absolutely LOVE to. EDIT: Physician-assisted s* is legal in some countries, under certain circumstances, including Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and parts of the United States (California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and Washington. 💯

Medically assisted dying is legal and supported in a number of jurisdictions. Many death doulas support people through this process, as well as working with all other sorts of deaths. The goal is to support people in the choices that are best for them. Best, Sarah

I was certified as a CNA and subsequently I am also considered a death doula, eventually depending on the patient. I say that because I worked in nursing facilities where most patients that come there, eventually die. I have also been trained to distinguish signs of improvement vs molting which is signs of the body dying. I have had a a few patients that went through it on my watch and it was completely different than dealing with patients expected to live a few years. My charge nurse told me, you have to treat them as if they are not dying. I was still changing clothes, brushing hair, bed baths, speaking to them and filling their cup of water and setting it next to their bedside. The last one to me sounds asinine. But I learned alot and learned exactly what I want to do. I stumbled upon becoming a death doula and felt it is exactly what I did for patients who were dying when I was a CNA. And this is my calling. Imagine living for 40 plus years still struggling to find that perfect niche for you?! I mean, afterall, aren't we all dying? Love your video. It helped to solidify my decision. ❤️

Wow first off let me say Thank you for this lively informative video. This is what I very much want to commit to. I love this idea as I've been with many people entering that next stage that most people avoid conversing about, DYING, because they call it ghoulish or they simply do not possess the skills needed to deal with it. Well we all die, it's part of life and the person dying needs to be sometimes escorted and be made comfortable by what's going on. I think this is a beautiful act of kindness that WILL become more accepted as time goes by. And btw it really was not a popular thing to be a mortician but they are highly respected now. Thank you again...subscribing to you

Wow! Loved your video and also LOVED all the comments! You have truly resonated with many! Understandably as death, although it is UNIVERSAL is simply ignored. Mind blowing really. I too feel called to this and love this 'new' (old) perspective on dying. Yes, returning to our old ways. and no, I don't think it is strange to feel excited about this! Am very grateful. helping people feel better during this process is an honor, really. Blessings

How much does it cost to become a death doula? I’m 57 and I have health issues that keep me from working in the public sector. I am not contagious 😂
