I love the welds, they really look clean, the last part of the video shows the final product, and your video shows what it takes to get those results, great job!!

Great video really shows what goes into making something common that we don’t pay much attention to normally. Also shows the absolute practicality of having this equipment around. Solutions both standard and custom are just a few mouse clicks away! 🔥👍🏼🔥

I think it also shows that making a simple item isn’t as simple as pressing start. Thanks for the support Phil. ❤️

ManCraftingTM Indeed. Proficiency in the software and the knowledge of the capabilities of the tools takes time to learn and master. Like anything else, there is a whole lot more to it than it looks on the surface.

Wow! Great solution to a common frustration that many of us are going through now with shipping delays. Smart move on Greg’s part to use the sheet metal module. That worked out nice! Your videos keep getting better and better. Keep’em comin’!

Great job! On the brake fingers blue the side then scribe a line in the center and match it up to you scribed bend line from fusion and you will get a good bend location.

Jeff Lancaster thanks. I have blue dykum. Didn’t think about using it for this but that makes sense. The issue I had making these, was doing more than one at the same time. That many not even be realistic. I don’t have enough experience to know.

Looks good Chad. The only thing I’d do differently, and it’s entirely a point of preference, on the CAM setup I like the origin point to be a corner.
@ManCrafting4 жыл бұрын
I think in the final version it was. This was the initial test piece to make sure it was going to cut right. And for some reason it may just not have been on camera, because it was on the front right corner as well. Not sure why it doesn’t show that.

I considered it, and that would likely be my comment to anyone doing what I just did. I was already feeling pressed for time and with the mill scale they were about the color I wanted so I went with an industrial steel finish. Hopefully I don’t regret that choice.

I love it. It’s the best of the helmets I own, but I’m sure there are newer helmets from Optrel and ESAB that have even better tech. This one is three years old.

Great project and video, Chad! I wouldn’t have thought to put a mortise and tenon (or whatever the equivalent is called in metal), but it makes a lot of sense both for lining it up and holding it before welding (and probably adds strength too). Is the tool rest / holder you have for your MIG and TIG torch something you made or bought?
@ManCrafting4 жыл бұрын
I suppose in metal it’s called tab and slot. But similar ideas. The MiG Torch holder was made by Jason Hughes SandHill CNC. Let me message him and see if he’s still making them.
