I started with guitar almost one year ago exactly! I picked up the ukulele in November to help me get more comfortable with singing and playing (it seemed like less pressure!). I'm so glad that I play both now. I did go through a hand surgery (fretting hand) this spring so I had to put the guitar down for awhile. But I am almost 100% again and really enjoy both instruments. I do struggle with bar chords on the guitar though.

I am glad you got better! Don't worry about the bar chords, they just take some time :))

30+ year guitar player here. Recently discovered the wonderful world of ukulele and I'm loving it. A bit of a challenge with the whole smaller fretboard, chord transition thing but I'm enjoying the fun challenge. I notice that Terry and I appear to have similar hand size so I pay close attention to his playing style, and it encourages me One tip for guitar players. Playing the uke is so much fun but don't forget to pick up your guitar every now and then as well. Can't get enough of uke like the pros. Thanks!!!

Thanks so much, this is the fourth of your videos I have watched and I have learned something significant from each one. I have played guitar for years, picked up ukulele, mandolin, banjo, and now guitarlele, your videos are short and sweet! Can’t wait to see your store!

Awesome lesson! Now I have a better understanding between the guitar and the ukulele. Thank you!

That's interesting, but after watching your videos on the baritone ukulele I chose a baritone because I was familiar with the standard EDGBE classical acoustic guitar. I was familiar with some of the chords played on the four lower guitar strings, but the chords, notes or songs I learn on the baritone can obviously be played on the guitar if I want to. It's nice to be able to learn one instrument and apply it to the other for a bigger sound or to grab the handy ukulele and go.

Thanks a ton. The comment of moving up a 4th was the clincher. I'm assuming sharps and flats go up a 4th too. Off to rewrite a few favorite songs_ A uke player

Hi Uke buddies. I started late playing the guitar but after a few years my hands and fingers have a bit of arthritis. A friend introduced me to the Baritone Uke with the same 4 strings of a guitar and sounds similar. And have been in love since. The music /chords I have for the guitar I now use for the Uke and it pretty much works. I have just had to learn the Uke chords which are similar to the guitar. X Kat

Studying it now as well. But yeah, I have a 1967 Martin and it is enormous. Especially when I compare it to the OHANA Nunes replica. :-))

Can I do the same with Barítono ukulele? Thank you
@sevpha12593 жыл бұрын
You can, the Baritone is basically a guitar without the two lower strings. If you capo the baritone on the 5th fret, it basically becomes an Ukulele with a low G-string, assuming you tune the baritone DGBE (Guitar Tuning would be EADGBE).
