Troy: In the first and foremost place it is not YOUR workspace! It is Timber's play/activity space. Now that we have that squared away (pun intended), it was obvious to me, that Timber wanted some attention, and a dog's needs and desires are more important than any human endeavor.

After you get the wall stones finished and like it, consider a clear sealer for the stone and the hearth. I think the concrete will continue to act like a sponge for a month or so so sealing it when finished can help prevent future cracking.

Nice job Troy. It is really going to look nice when your river stone is finished. Love your dog. Reminds me of a yellow lab we had years ago. Always bringing us sticks to throw, so he could go find them. It is a reason why a dog is Mens best friend. Blessings

Good day. Off this subject. Researching old notes. Fermenting any product. Veges etc. Especially pig feed in your case refers. Salt, (a bit), in any fermenting process - stops bad bacteria getting in before good bacteria starts working. Regards. RSA.

I throw a chunk of Osage Orange wood in before I go to bed and fires good for 8-10 hours. Stuffs like coal, high heat and long burn times.

I enjoyed the video Troy. Timber is such a sweet pup - I have a similar companion that wants to be with me no matter what I'm doing. That little woodstove is quite a gem, and I really like the way the hearth stone and the stone surround is coming together.

I have a pair of two-wheel trolleys I built for shifting very heavy objects. I reckon the nice big pneumatic tyres I put on them would handle that doorway a lot better than the little castors on that casket trolley.

River rock should go up the same as tile ( I would think) So no wire should be needed. I rocked the masonry work on my foundation and had to lay a couple courses or 2 rocks high, then allow time for them to set up before sticking more. If one falls off from above it will knock the lower ones off! I only worked on it for a few hours a day on the weekends.

Note to self: sand and crushed rock that have been sitting out in the rain will be wet and concrete made from them won't need as much water as usual.

Nice job. I was concerned it would crack being so thin and heavy but it worked out very well.

That's quite a large diameter chimney pipe for such a tiny stove.

I don't see insulation behind it all, did you forget to throw some back in the corner. Don't forget to throw some behind it if you did.

I know nothing about fire safety. I have an old American Eagle stove I want to set up in my workshop, but I'm not sure what kind of buffer to give it to keep the shop from at some point burning down. Is drywall a good enough barrier? Is this cabin being built in an area that requires building permits?

You don't let any of those grinding wheels go to waste! Are you happy with that stove? Do you think it Would it work well in a fifth wheel?
@RedToolHouse9 ай бұрын
Ha! No doubt. Run them till you hit the hub. Yes, I think it would work well in an RV. Just secure it properly.

Satcom. We have no services up there as it is in the Greenbank quiet zone. This device allows me to communicate via text with home.

Yes you can just don't use black concrete dye it's pure carbon black lol rubs off and I know of no sealer to stop transferring the black , also never go less than 3.5" and rebar and wire. Lol

Watching you bending over like that to pick up a lump of concrete ... you only get one spine in this life. You might want to look after it better than that.
