For whatever reason I REALLY enjoyed the concept of finding ten magically hidden chests a week, with new positions for each phase of the Curse cycle (similarly, I'm also a fan of finding the Worm Chest worms in Garden of Esila, and I'll always recover the Badge of a downed Corsair), and would grab the chests every week on all three characters as a sort of time trial, usually kicked off by doing the Ascendant Challenge first, then running for the chests with whatever time remained on my 30 minute Ascendance buff. I was very frustrated when Bungie scrapped the individual trackers on emblems when they implemented the Stat Trackers system, as the 'Secret Victories' emblem tracked ascendant chests opened, and I was shooting for 1,000 on it. I was somewhere around 850-875-ish (?) when I lost the ability to track via the emblem.

Dreaming City had so many collectables. Cats, secret timed events, a patrol that was just a VA reading Lore, plus the 3 week cycle of chests. Bungie and the other studios really swung for the fences with this location.

Datto was right in thinking there’s a chest where he first looked in the Divalian Mists, but he went to where the regional chest is located. The ascendant chest is floating in the sky away from that cliffside after you pop a tincture and do an “invisible” platforming puzzle.

the funniest thing is that every area datto says there's something, he's correct, there's an ahamkara egg or a cat there, or a random activity chest (three arc balls), or a standard chest, or an ascendant challenge, and you can tell he remembers where they are because he describes it while he's there. He just doesn't remember what goes where and i don't blame him, i think it's impressive that he remembers that much from five years ago.

The thing that did my head in was the different curse levels. I reckon I would've had a chance otherwise. I went pretty much the same route as Datto did from the off and upon realising the locations change weekly, I threw in the towel and looked up a guide.
