great job, this video hit the nail in the head, its time to accept the fact the both pressure washing and "soft washing" work hand in hand together, plus using hypo as a post treatment tends to keep the patio clean for a lot longer.

Very useful. This has reminded me why mine is so hard. It is simply i have vastly bigger areas than any video I ever see. I did a part of my paved area today and the area on this video is about one 20th of the area I have just on that one blocked paving area alone. Anyway I will do mine bit by bit....

Yeah, this was quite a small one. A more powerful pressure washer like we use would help get through a larger area more efficiently. A domestic standard machine will always struggle.

Absolutely fantastic job. I'm looking to get into the pressure washing business so I'm trying to find someone with experience that knows what they're doing. Way too many odd job men on KZbin that wing it. Employed a builder recently who promised to clean the drive and back garden and the roof. Lots of black spots on the slabs. Didn't pre-treat it with any chemicals and went straight to jet washing it. He said he used chlorine which I know doesn't really work or at least not fast enough for a professional job. Some firms are builders and try to get into cleaning as well but are short of expertise and equipment to do the job properly. They charge through the nose though anyway. I got that sinking feeling soon as they turned up and asked me if I had a long extension lead. Didn't cover the air con units properly. Put a spare bucket they found on top of one of them which overflowed from the jet washing of the roof, fell and broke. Strung out over three days but for some reason left at 2pm each day. The third and final day is supposed to be tomorrow but I'm already dreading it. I climbed up and took a look at the gutters. Still full of mud and algae from the roof jet washing. I didn't see them apply any chemicals on the roof either. Just went straight to jet washing the tiles. They also didn't move the glass top garden table which is now so filthy that it will probably not be usable. We'll see. Charging me over 4k which I'm happy to pay but am definitely not happy with what's happened so far. Already regretting calling these people in. FML.

Yeah, there’s pressure washing and then there’s pressure washing. There are proper techniques to get things done efficiently with as little mess as possible. Sometimes it’s worth getting a professional in that knows what they’re doing, rather than a guy who has just bought a pressure washer.

really cannot decide on the time v cost issue - pre treatment with chemical means chemical is being used at £ cost on stuff that would vanish under initial pressure wash - pressure wash first means stuff gets removed but leaves the surface wet so dilutes the chemical even more - is the chemical best applied to dry or wet surface (what is the weather that day?) So many questions, yet every U Tube video claims their approach is best...
@aemackintosh
@aemackintosh Жыл бұрын
It just depends on the job basically. There might be some jobs that are so bad you decide to pre-treat, clean, then treat again. Others won’t need much chemical at all and you can just pressure wash, a little treatment for the final touch, and rinse. You learn from every job. Wet the surface a little first.
