Happen to have an old vide showing how to do the shoe goo and drywall thing to strengthen the body? And would you suggest it being done to a new kraton 6s v6
@acesrcs10 күн бұрын
I personally dont. but its super easy. you basically put about 2-3 layers of drywall "joint tape" its important you get the dry wall tape that looks like checkers.. basically alot of holes. normal dry wall tape look just like basic tape. then i would suggest about 2 things of shoe goo as well. after u lined the body with the drywall tape just put that glue all over the tape and let it dry. and yes i suggest doing it for ANY rc it makes the body last 10x longer!

I rebuilt mine and the first run I broke a shock shaft and bent a new axle on nearly flat ground. I'm going to fix it and sell it now... Such a pos lol, I'm surprised when people recommend these things. Hopefully this thing lasts for you the second time around.
@acesrcs9 күн бұрын
@keldonator what axles where they? Just the plastic ones or metal? And they can be strong machines but I feel you on the "pos" part lol, I have alot of issues that will pop up randomly with the truck. Their usally cheap fixes tho so I keep dumping money into it.
@keldonator9 күн бұрын
@acesrcs They were some metal Amazon axles, wasn't about to buy the MIPs lol. Many of the plastic parts are very affordable so that was nice. The weakest part though, is very spendy and even then I see people having issues with the MIP axles.

I've had my 4x4 apart hundreds of times at this point just building the ultimate slash, but i really enjoyed watching a restoration build definitely a good video, and you know your shi lol, but also those were wheels spacers, they have different offsets basically how wide the wheels sit apart on the car
@acesrcs19 күн бұрын
I appreciate it man! And yea I figured those where wheel spacers, I just went with the medium ones as I figured that would be the "normal" offset. Either way the truck drives as it should so I guess that's all that matters lol.

I might buy one of the slash "max" but this one turned out pretty good and it's still bashing to this day 😂

Nicely done. The prolines should work out nicely. I like how they include wheel inserts with different offsets. 🫶
@acesrcs2 күн бұрын
@RCRoads the prolines have been alright. I've had 2 of them kinda fail already.. and what I mean by fail is that one of them the foam inside the tire has kinda broke inside the wheel and has soft spot and I had another tire that has a rip in the side wall.. I think the new castle system I put in is a little too strong for them and I think I will go with belted tires next time lol.
