I watched your video before my trip to Kilkenny in 2023. Most of my tour group took an optional trip to Waterford. I was determined to see Kilkenny on my own. I had an afternoon to explore. Thank you for climbing the tower so I didn't have to. I did see St Candice's Cathedral. So nice. I enjoyed the Rothe House very much. My feet were very tired when I headed for my hotel. I got lost, but a lovely lady working at Aldi's told me how to get back to my hotel. The people of Ireland are so nice! I love Kilkenny! Thanks for your video 😊!

St Mary's Cathedral is the one you visited, built in 1800s, but you gave it the history of a different church, its now a museum closer to the castle.

Kilkenny retains and embraces its Irish history. If you want the real deal, spend time in Kilkenny and Tipperary County in general. They hold true to their roots.

Hi I enjoyed the video of Kilkenny but just to correct you on one point, the statue you were referring to is not erected to commemorate Gaelic Football. It was erected to commemorate the past, present and future hurlers of Kilkenny. Kilkenny have won 36 Hurling All Irelands more than any other County in Ireland. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Kilkenny. Regards Chris

Kilkenny was wonderful - I’ve been back several times since this visit and did a follow up video to correct my Hurling error amongst other misses. Sadly the footage escaped me when my camera equipment was stolen in Egypt of all places! Hopefully I’ll be back to do the follow up it deserves in the summer :)

When in Kilkenny, a visit to the South Bank pub is a must even if one never has a drink! One of the most beautiful pubs in Ireland, it is more like a conglomeration of several bars

I would imagine you were at Sulivans? They produce a Stout in Kilkenny. Or possibly Smitwicks - although unlikely stout - but a great brewery. They have a great Irish red ale. It’s a fantastic little town I’ve been back several times since this video. I feel I should do an update soon.

Afraid you mixed up St Marys Cathedral (1850s) and the much older St Mary's Church (now the Medieval Mile Museum). You talked about the older St Mary's inside the old city walls but showed the much newer St Mary's Cathedral located outside the former city walls and a victoriana construction.

How do we know how many lives pandemic would have claimed if not for lockdown before vaccination saturated population?
@TheWonderingEnglishman Жыл бұрын
We can look at countries that didn’t lock down and realise they were right and those that locked down were criminal and wrong.

Well,Sweden didnt lock down at the start in 2020. Then they realised what a horrific mistake they made and eventually did lock down,thereby saving lives.
@TheWonderingEnglishman Жыл бұрын
@@geraldwalsh6489 They didnt lock down. They caved to the corrupt press in 2021 and banned gatherings of 8 or more for a brief amount of time. Lockdowns saved no one. They cost lives and resulted in the biggest transfer of wealth in human history. Your Leaders lied to you as did the media.

What a beautiful town. In the States, however, we were not informed in time, about the deadly pandemic, by our sociopathic (now former) president; my mother and over a million people died in the first year alone as a result of not shutting down fast enough.
@TheWonderingEnglishman10 ай бұрын
There’s no evidence 3-4 years later that lockdowns helped anyone. Please go look at all the data and studies that have been done since that show lockdowns clearly didn’t help. They actually did more damage than good. What Americans should have been informed about was risk to people due to lifestyle and diet.

Little point going to Ireland for historic (as opposed to pre-historic) architecture in Ireland as the tropes are so similar to the English built environment that it’s not anything new for anyone who’s seen UK already. But worth it for the beautiful Celtic nature music and craic

Can’t you just have more than one dose and enjoy it despite similar things being witnessed in the British Isles?
@jakoflynn25602 жыл бұрын

@@jakoflynn2560 step back and appreciate it. The British Isles are a unique place. I’m English and love exploring every inch of these Isles. As I’ve aged it’s become even more appealing and this despite seeing almost 90 other countries. The thing that saddens me is seeing the internationalists/Globalists homogenising every European nation all in the name of progress. Enjoy what we have before we lose it. As that’s happening very fast.

@@TheWonderingEnglishman I’m a post Blair revolution and post Brexit defector on freedom and rights grounds. As a member of the “laptop class” I bailed out 30 years ago. England stifles with its claustrophobia & its climate sucks. But if a bad guy invaded, I’d still return to fight them on the beaches & all that good stuff. We live in a kingdom of woke, state capture and Islamic-feminist alliances. What are and who are “the globalists”? (Ps if war is the outcome of European nationalism why bolster it?)
@TheWonderingEnglishman2 жыл бұрын
We would certainly be on the same team but I’m still holding onto the sinking ship. The Globalists are responsible for the Globohomo post feminist Islamist mess that has swept over the UK. Blair and his crooks began the wave and all that came after him facilitated it further. The country has been sold to the Globalists who are the corporate interests. Where Corporations come before the people. And as borders are knocked down we lose all these things that were once considered by many Brits as simply dull.
