In today’s video I will be playing the back 9 at The Links of North Dakota in Ray, North Dakota. This is true links golf that reminds me of playing golf in Scotland. This is part 2 of this 2 part series. Hope y’all are having a great week and enjoy the vid!!

This is quality stuff here folks. To shoot 69 in a 20mph wind from the Tips at The Links is some great golf. To get this quality of Video filming by yourself is also a great achievement Zac. Thumbs Up.

I appreciate the entertainment from your golf travelogue. The courses are spectacular as is the quality of golf played. I have recently been struggling with my long irons and fairway woods, so I decided to try setting up to the ball in a Zac Radford kind of way (at least in my mind’s eye). Although I hit some crappy shots at first, I began to hit some towering 4 irons and 3 woods. Not all shots are great, but some are outstanding, compared to what I was doing previously. Will it last? Nothing in golf ever seems to, but for now it is great!

Zac, the horizon is generally about 10 miles away for a person of 6'2". The higher your stance is (i.e. on a small hill) the further you can see. For a view of 40 - 50 miles you'd need to stand high up on a mound. We'd need to apply pythagoras to calculate that exactly. Great video there. 💯

I've been telling him to play Edgewood for a while now. He was in NorCal recently, but I don't think he played it then. Edgewood is one of my all-time favorite golf courses. i lived in South Lake for several years and played it often sometime playing from the Tips which were at about 8,000 yards in the "old" days. One par five on the front was about 725 yards and one par three was 260 yards. I've got some great memories there for sure.

10:58 Interestingly, many people would guess big numbers like this. But good question. Judging from the view of those hills, we would be lucky to get 5 miles out of it. At sea level, the horizon is surprisingly just under 3 miles. Fun fact: There is a 5.4 mile straight away at the Volkswagen Group test track of Ehra-Lessien, Germany where they test top speeds of their subsidiaries production cars. The road is just about flawlessly level with earths gravity. So, if Zac stood at one end and someone else stood at the other, they would not be able to see each other due to earths curvature.

I'd throw out a guess of 10-12 miles of visibility before you curve over the horizon. But that is since you are above the terrain. If I remember correct, out on the ocean visibility is like 4 miles I think. That is assuming no waves to raise you up or down. I might be way off on that.
