Even though axolotls are not actually salamanders, they are close. An axolotl is basically a juvenile salamander that doesn’t grow, kind of like if a few week old tadpole never grew after that to become a frog, but salamanders So it really doesn’t make sense that a turgeon starts out on land with it being a salamander Also some other fun axolotl facts! 1. Axolotls are only pink, yellow, and other commonly recognizable colors for an axolotl when they are bred to be kept as pets, wild axolotls are splotted black and brown. 2. Axolotls are bred with leopard salamanders because of how rare they are in the wild. 3. Axolotls can regrow limbs and scientist have been trying to figure out how they do it so they can hope to apply that ability to humans in the future.
