@@josuetirado4499 I’ll be honest… the shavette is probably going to give you more cuts that a big razor like this… the blade in the shavette is so thin I always cut myself with them haha

@@josuetirado4499 I would still start with a shavette because it teaches you technique without worrying about honing the razor and also if you get really good with shavette then you will be a million times better with straight razor!

Giant razors are awesome 😅 there's no size restrictions with straight razors , ⅜ to 13/8 , all are such a joy to use ....the edge is just as sharp on a ⅜ , its only muscle memory.....I bet you really enjoyed the feeling of achievement 😅😅😅. Well done Sean 👏. I knew you'd like the stability of a heavy blade .

Got myself a 6/8 Boker Elite Carbon 3.0 & a 4/8 Boker green abalone and I’m in love !! 😅 I’m hooked! 😂 Learned how to hone & I’m exploring new stones.. started with Naniwa 3k/8k combo and Naniwa 12k super stone and of course a 400&1200 Atoma diamond.. looking for a good cotucule now..

@@rp2construction Thank you my friend! That’s awesome, it really is the best way to shave and it can be very fun both the shave and the honing. For me it’s the fact that it’s a skill that you have to practice that makes it fun, not many people would know how to use a straight razor so it’s a small hobby and I love it! Those stones will get you some good edges and yes the coticule is a great stone! My most comfortable shaves have been from a coticule edge. Glad you joined into straight razor shaving my friend!

Nice shave Sean. I like large razors. In my opinion this type of razor needs to be perfectly balanced and the grip needs to lock the razor in your hand. A unbalanced heavy razor can be quite challenging to use. If you lived in Norway I would let you try one of my WoolfBlades. You forget that you are using a large blade because it's so well balanced and easy to hold on to. The new hyper sensitive woke movement is in my opinion doing more harm then good.

I think with enough use I would like such a big razor but for now 8/8 is what I feel comfortable with. I never thought I would see in the Olympics a man hitting a woman in a sport. Cheers my friend!
