I play full time. I used to be successfull on mini tours a long time ago. Now my back is not cooperating. Im impressed that you can not be totally in the present and play as well as you do. You talk about yesterday and the future. We would always say that our good runs of golf came when we were in the present. ( good advice for life too). You said i can't make a putt. CANT NEVER DID ANYTHING. I also think you have a different mentality on par putts than on birdie putts. Try to have the same " want on birdie putts as par putts. I have a great student who took that advice and she won a Very prestigious event. She said staying in the present, sticking finishes ( including putts), and having the same mentality on every putt. You grind so well. You play golf so well. You are a born entertainer. Embrace that, and let that be your superpower. You are awesome.

I was thinking the same thing, she kept saying she couldn't make putts. I was like, "stop saying that!" Such a high percentage of golf is mental.

Nice job! I was watching a reading The Inner Game of Golf the other day. He was talking about putting and how this guy was a really good putter when he was young. When he putted he just trusted his gut and went with it. But as he got older and “wiser” he realized how technical putting was, and the more he tried to master all the technical aspects, the worse he got. When he was young and lacked technical knowledge he just went by his gut for the most part. The trick was to return to the mindset of his youth but he resisted it because “putting is so technical”. Anyway, I recommend taking a look at that book, in particular the part about putting.

Congrats on 2nd place...I am an old guy and enjoy watching you and hearing your commetary. You have a really nice rhythm in your swing...seems to flow smoothly and not forced. On putting, you will get better at reading the more you play. I have a touch of neuropathy in my right foot so I do not ever use my feet to read greens. I still use the old plum bob method...it give me a good idea of how much break on each putt...you have to stand behind the ball and align your club while holding it lightly between thumb and index finger...sight with your dominant eye...works for me.

Hey! Just a few holes in and I can see you're struggling to read putts. I've struggled a lot too and figured out that I am green dyslexic with sunglasses on. Don't know what it is about them, but now I always change glasses (I use glasses for my long sight anyways) when reading greens. Might only be me, but I've seen Stenson and Mickelson do this a lot to now that I notice it.

Nicely done Gabby. I have a stupid question for you. I've worn glasses my entire life. I saw your sunnies slip during one of your drives. I have had glasses, over the years, that skewed my vision while standing over putts. Because of the side angle, standing over putts, some sun glasses/regular glasses will have an effect on how you view the contours of the green. Almost like looking into water. Make you slightly second guess your alignment. When you're practice putting, line up a putt with your sunglasses....Then remove them and make sure the alignment looks the same with out the glasses. Thanks for all the work your putting into the channel and good luck!

Tee to green you were on fire!!! Seemed like your struggle revolved around reading the greens. Looked like your speed control was on point (many tap in pars) but you frequently seemed surprised about the break. Just curious if your putting is better or worse on days when you make videos. Making the video could be a distraction. I think everyone struggles with green reading from time to time, especially on mountain courses. It helps me to get a feel for the slope and break of the greens by taking a look long before you arrive on the green. I try to assess slope when I am 100-150 yards away. It gives your brain a big picture of what to expect as you approach the green which can be paired with your interpretation on the green itself. Having a preconceived idea will influence how you interpret the break of the green up close. I find my green reading is best when I am walking compared to riding in a cart. That extra time to focus seems to help. Something to consider. It might be a good addition to your process. Really enjoy your channel, appreciate your commentary, and your positive energy is inspiring.

Great round and congrats on 2nd place. For putting, try 1 round again with going back to the normal putting grip, right hand low. I think this will help and improve you long putting to make more and get it closer to the hole. For all players who use the left hand low, it just appears they all struggle with longer putts. Just a thought, and who knows, it may work and change things or give better feel for those longer putts. Keep working and keep grinding, love your videos and coverage of the rounds. Maybe at the next practice session, try 5 long putts and different distances using both grips and see how the results turns out.

Good tournament. Excellent ball striking. Practice more putting!!!! You should be spending at least 65% of time putting. If you want to be an above average college player, and even have a glimpse of being competitive on a developmental tour --- put more time into putting and 60-80 yard shots into greens. 2nd place is great, congrats !

That 8 iron swing on the last. That was like watching Nelly Korda, beautiful and smooth and your body position and movement through the whole swing was as good as it gets. Your putting looks fine, remember pros have caddies who have studied the breaks on greens, don't be hard on yourself, as long as the putt starts on the line you intend, then you can't do better than that..
