Lack of understanding of correct design while planning a new city is the root cause of these infrastructural issues. Even newly developing smart cities aren’t addressing all these issues while designing the city. We should have a japanese type system, where you cant own a car or a bike until unless you show a permanent parking space in your name. I dont care what other people say, if you dont have a place to put your car in, then you dont get a car, road isnt your parking space. This is so annoying, cause the home infront of me have like 4-6 scooties that they all park at night, and it literally chokes the whole road

Firstly, implementing laws here have significant difficulties, you can't just put a blanket statement on such a diverse set of population with equally diverse set of circumstances. Secondly, if you dont care what anyone else says, why should anyone care about what you say? Isn't that hypocritical, if not self defeating? Lastly, it seems like your solution is to solve your problem of the house thats blocking your road. But not everyone has your problem. So its just not fair, and the laws arent made for you alone. We are not japan, let's stop pretending we can just blindly borrow what other people do because "ideas are transferrable". No they're not. Even if your solution is somehow implemented, the existing traffic is going nowhere.

Why not incentivize citizens by fixing public transport? Increase bus frequency and their routes, strategically spreading across metro & train stations and housing apartments. In a Post-Industrial city, usage of personal automobiles should be minimum! The standard of commute should be high enough such that people should not feel like using personal transport.

First People should encourage governments to add more public transport instead of adding lanes/roads. Then only Government can encourage people to use public transport by making the roads hard to drive and turning driving lanes into BRTS, monorail, and metros, pedestrians, cycling, & green belt. Using public transport can easily solve many problems - either be it traffic, "POLLUTION", or parking.

Remove toto and auto first. The way they dangerously drive and park is insane. I got into an accident and broke my ankle due to toto driver being an idiot. In urban areas more e-scooters and public cycles should be pushed. New taxis should be introduced and owned by the government with licenced drivers, about whom we can complain in case of any discomfort, so a portal should be there too. Pedestrians should be made wider and everywhere. Stop blaming cars for congestion and start walking on that sidewalk for god's sake 🙏🙏

If I am living in kalbadevi where there is actually no spot for parking, We have no option but to stop people from parking from my house and at night I come and park my vehcle. I think that's a bad idea. Price of land should be used to calculate where the vehicle is being parked. Parking shouldn't be subsidized because a lot more people suffer that way and only a few benefit. That space can be used much better in cities.
