As an irish fan i think that ireland have a 23 to beat any team, however when it comes to world cups our lack of depth in key positions like loosehead, scrumhalf, full back, etc means that we dont have the quality back ups play that many games in such a short period of time. Every world cup winning team (aside from 1999) the team with the best squad and not just the best team has won?

As an irish fan let me tell you that nobody listens to the media here. There has always been a respect for the boks and will always be. They are the giants of rugby and what we aspire to be. People not from Ireland forget that we were terrible at rugby up until the 2000s and it took 9 more years for us to win a 6 nations. There probably was too much celebration after that big win against the boks (I forget) but it's long gone and we won't be winning like that again anytime soon.

@honahwikeepa21154 ай бұрын
The AB has done it a few times and hit 50+ on occasions. Ireland defeated the AB at home twice. The AB then lost to the Puma and then the Bokkie in South Africa. Three loses in a row. The following weekend the AB beat the Bokkie. Ireland approach to a game is similar to that of the AB. You must win wherever you play and whoever you play. The AB legacy is built upon this approach. You must impose your will upon your opponent.

Why on earth is that a compliment? Because you've never been past the quarters, so how did the Irish players think they'd get passed ABs. We are sensitive because we lose to the ABs when we shouldn't. It's called respect. Ever since Ireland got to number 1, you guys thought you shit ice cream 😅😅😅😅. I respect Ireland, probably respect Wales more. They don't change because they've moved up the rankings and they are a real rugby nation. You guys take yourselves way to seriously all of a sudden. Reminds us of the English. Fans not so much but your pundits are so snobby all of a sudden lol. I love me Irish people by the way. But it doesn't suit you guys to be dicks. It suits us perfectly because that's who we are and as you can see by these legends talking here, we love a good laugh, especially at ourselves to be honest. Will be a good game no matter what happens. I'm shitting bricks to be honest. Loftus and Durban go very quiet if the Boks are not playing well and some of our biggest defeats have been in these stadiums.
