As someone who just survived 25 years of Dan Snyder, I can tell you there is no hope for Carolina as long as Tepper is owner. The team will float between horrifically terrible at worst and mediocre at best. Getting a wild card spot once every 5 seasons and then immediately losing in the opening road is the team's ceiling for the next two decades. I'm sorry.

Remember that Danny boy's strategy to make a profit with Washington was to hire the dirt cheap players and coaches, take the money the league gives each team each year and boom.. profit with no chance of being competitive. Tepper is actually trying as far as we know.

@@christopherbiggers7811 Snyder used to spend a lot of money on players and coaches. He used to make big name signings all the time. He was always toxic and meddlesome and interfered all the time. There were always too many distractions under him.

In fact, the way he signed used up, over-hyped players and paid them, is one of the MANY reasons why we could never win. It has been reported that he cheaped out on the facilities (obvious), and he apparently didn't like to pay Contractors, etc. But he threw bad money at bad players and coaches... all the time.

Tepper is bad... but he can't touch Little Danny Boy or Jimmy Haslett, who comes in a distant second. I hope something good happens for you guys. Good fans... and you deserve better. Hang in there. The Commanders are a legit first place team. The largest point differential in the NFC, even with the loss to the Ravens. Hell they only beat Washington by a touchdown. When you look at what the Ravens are doing to other teams, Washington's defense even looked kinda good.

I couldn't disagree more, look at what teams they have actually beaten. Washington hasn't beaten any actually good teams, first place team is a massive stretch. They beat a horrible Giants team, a Bengals team that has no clue who they're right now, a Cardinals team that looked bottom of the league the first few weeks of the season, a Browns team who are the worst team in NFL history, year over year, and a Panthers team that traded away the farm for a (atm) backup QB. They lost to the Bucs and they lost to the Ravens, the only two good teams they have played this season. This week vs the Bears will be a true test for both teams, because they're both in the same boat. Neither team has beaten a good or even decent team, outside of maybe the Rams for the Bear since the Rams are always an oKay team with McVay.

@@Puzzledrider Sure, Washington hasn't beated any actually good teams. But you can't ignore the fact that they're not only beating bad teams, but they are DOMINATING them consistently. Most games are not blowouts when a good team beats a bad team.

@@Puzzledrider and they played the Ravens tougher than other teams did when the Ravens won. The extreme scores of their victories against mashed potato teams is also more than other teams are doing. Hell, the Commanders have the highest point differential in the league even after the loss to Baltimore.

The pure fact of the matter is, its too early to say something that strong when they haven't played and won vs anyone thats currently good this season. Are they good? Ya as of now, that fair to say. Washington fan here n I feel bad for u all!! We've been thru it with Snyder n your owner seems the same way. He wanted Young while coaches wanted Stroud!! He butts in like Snyder n I really don't think it will get better until either he sells team or finally butts out of football operations n let who he hired do it!! Best of luck to u!!

I'm a Washington fan. At the end of the season 31 teams loose. Only one champion. An all organizations have been at the bottom. That's how the team gets built. Look at the New England Patriots. In the early 90's they sucked. Kansas City. Cleveland always. It took the Eagles 60 years to win one. Do you know how many dead fans out there never seen there team win Superbowl. But they had hope and kept on supporting. Because only one team is champion. Second place is praised on ESPN which means nothing. The media is the downfall of sports. Back in the day you had to watch the game. An it wasn't no football package.

Tanking can be a good idea, IMO. I know the Skins did it last season, and it we hadn't we probably wouldn't have either Dan Quinn, Adam Peters or Jayden Daniels in the building right now. It just has to be done in the right way. You need the high pick to attract a GM and get the QB, but it also has to happen in a year where there's a prospect coming out that would interest top GM prospects. Otherwise you're getting the pick and none of the other things, which doesn't work. Anyway, good luck going forward. There is definitely a way out if you can find it. If we can do it after a quarter century of Dan Snyder, you can do it too.

@@didgruntleddansnyderfan I don’t think we will have to tank. Tank is doing it on purpose but our defense is so battered and inexperienced that it cannot stop anyone. I wouldn’t take a QB with our first and instead focus on reshaping the defense with a great defensive line class. It’s a process for sure but there’s hope with how our rookie class has shown flashes and Dan Morgan and Dave are at least on the same page. It’s the first time that I’ve been a fan that we have a GM and coach be on the same page. Fitterer got us in this mess (with help from Tepper) and I got to hope Dan and Dave can get us out

@@RyanGreenComedy Yes, but whether you trade away your good players to make sure you don't win like we did or they just get injured, it results in the same thing. And just at a glance, my impression of the Panthers rght now is that the threshold for being considered injured there has gone way down already. That's a way to tank too, even if you don't openly admit it's what you're doing. And there's nothing wrong with that. You clearly don't have the QB of the future and the front office probably feels it needs another swing at it next year. Hopefully it's the right year to tank/be terrible, about which I am almost entirely unqualified to opine. I can tell you this much: if I had known what it would lead to when we traded Montez Sweat and Chase Young after the Bears debacle last season I would have driven down there and packed their bags myself. You just never know as a fan. All we can do is roll with the punches and hope for the best. And defense first is what we did too four years ago. "Chase Young is the next Lawrence Taylor" was what everyone was telling me at the time. But we had Dwayne Haskins at QB and obviously needed to upgrade. I wanted Tua in that draft, but was shouted down. Last year they did what I wanted the last time and got the QB in place. And you tried to bridge with Dalton this year, but he just isn't even what he used to be anymore. And another problem for me with the defense first approach is that you can find ends and tackles later in the draft. Top QB prospects are only available in the top10, if that. And a top 3 pick is a (hopefully) rare and precious resource. I know that the second overall we wasted on Chase Young back in 2020 was the highest organic draft pick the Redskins had had since 1972. That's fifty years. You have to spend it on a QB IMO. Or is the plan to wait another fifty years for a top two pick? It just never made any sense to me. I would only ever take an end at #2 if I had a slam dunk at QB. But if you have a slam dunk at QB, what is your ass doing at #2 in the first place? #10 overall, sure. Knock yourself out with defenders. You'll probably have another #10 again next year anyway. But not #2. I will never agree with that. That is a QB pick unless the QB class is absolutely abysmal. Like the Kenny Pickett year.

The reason I’m saying focus on defense is because I don’t want to give a rookie or vet QB a terrible defense so they have to play hero ball all the time

@@RyanGreenComedy No I get it. And if it is another Kenny Pickett year you're right. Even trade down for more picks if possible. However, whatever talent you do acquire will also be a bit wasted until you get the QB, so you sort of obligate yourself to sucking next year as well so you can pick one. No good answers to the problem for me. The best might be a Sam Darnold-like retread. But those are a bit hit and miss as well. It just occurred to me that it's also depressingly early for you to have to look at the draft. How quickly we forget...Just a year ago I was exactly where you are now. Anyway, onwards and upwards! Can't stay at the bottom forever, can you?

Injuries have decimated our already suspect defense from Shaq, Derrick, and several defenders who’ve been in and out of the injury report. You won’t get another good candidate if you fire another head coach after another unless you have a DeMeco Ryans who is going back to his former team

He hasn’t been in the media since the hat situation on draft day. I’m hoping that he truly has taken the Jed York route and let the football guys rebuild this team.

You are forgetting the great defenses we had when Cam was in his prime. We were successful before Cam got here as well even though I wasn’t a fan then. I’m actually working on a big Panthers video explaining how we got in this situation that will probably come out in the next month.
