Fixing the Knicks is not that difficult. The move that needs to be made is Josh Hart needs to come off the bench, and that's no plug towards Josh Hart he's a baller, which will help the bench scoring which is the worst in the league right now. That will move Bridges and Anunoby back to their natural positions. And Achiuwa to the 4 to help Kat protect the rim. To do this unfortunately the Knicks are going to have to make a sacrifice and trade Duce or Payne or both the get a wing off the bench, and let Kolak run back up point. Ariel or Mitch if healthy back up Kat. Problem solved.

Agree Hart needs to be 6th man. If Robinson starts then voila. Precious is not good enough yet.
@rasbey20505 күн бұрын
@nathanielziering No they need Robinson to anchor the second unit. When given extended playing time precious has shown flashes, and has a positive plus minus rating. He is also a better rim protector than Kat.

I agree why would you trade Mitch at his lowest possible value. It makes sense for the future of the franchise to be patient and hope he regains some value.

Why trade Mitchell Robinson. Knicks need him. It does not make sense.

free agent ? injury history !!! they have no players with trade value but him !
@dpl45636 күн бұрын
@@Moe-p3ndoesn’t matter. You need Mitch. His rim protection would help keep guards out the paint and his rebounding provides more second chance points. There should also be more spacing with towns on the floor.

@ that 7 footer was the reason we made it out of the first round last year. So again I disagree - you don’t trade a proven center when you have Giannis Embiid and Myles Turner in the East.

Trade M Robinson and 2 seconds to Charlotte for Nick Richards & Tre Mann. Start Richards at the 5, move Kat back to the 4, move OG back to his natural position 3. JB at the one and Hart at the 2. Bridges goes to the second unit to play his natural position 3 with Tre Mann at the 1 and Deuce at the 2 and precious at the 4. That a start, from this it’s addition by subtraction. You have Payne, Precious, Kolek, Shamet,Hukporti, which should get you someone to add to the roster. He needs to be young and athletic..

Mitch's first hurdle will be, can he run on his surgically repaired ankles? Or, will his ankles swell up? Then, can he stop and go, pivot, move side to side, do all the drills. If yes, then maybe he goes to the G- League for a few games, like Shamet. Assuming he gets cleared to play with the Knicks, he will be on restricted minutes, maybe 5-10 minutes/ game rising to 10-15 minutes by around May and capping at that level or 20 min./game max.. This is very different from what a lot of people are expecting. One thing is clear to me, with Brunson and Kat starting, the Knicks are going nowhere without a very good defensive center, because they can't stop bad and mediocre teams from scoring. My opinion is that they shouldn't have traded Randle and Divo. We could have had Divo on the bench and kept our physicality and toughness as a team and concentrated on getting a good center.
@zdiddy37102 күн бұрын
Mitch would provide stuff that would make us a better overall team. I would start Mitch. His ability to protect the basket, offensive rebounds is exactly how we beat the Cavs in the past. Hart cannot be the 2nd best rebounder on a championship team. Hart would be great coming off the bench with Mitch or Precious in the starting 5.
@southgooner865 күн бұрын
We can make big trades still assuming they make under 20m. Someone like Poetel for Mitch and Precious, maybe reroute them to Kings and send Heuter to Raptors and another pick. We can do it still. I’d like to see a centre and forward at minimum. Dallas did it, we can do it too. I think fans overstate trades sometimes and what happens in real life isn’t as complex as fans make it out to be (and vice versa).

We botched not going to get Nick Richards. Idk if mitch can stay healthy, but if we do trade him I think we need a defensive minded center in return. Rim protection has lacked, and not forgetting the playoff series against Cleveland, Mitch dominated Allen and Mobley. However best ability is availability.
@nyhiddengems21244 күн бұрын
They say we need bench help and to trade Mitch, but wouldn't mitch be the best backup 5 in the league?
@averyprince44235 күн бұрын
You cannot dump paign Mitch is a hard lose if you convince yourself he’s not the best center consistently offensively rebounder. That’s bogus because he really can’t play but he’s not the type of player in playoffs if he’ll stay healthy. He could help defeat Cleveland. We need him solid and then we’d have more of a touch on the bounds defensively and offensively. Toppings I think needs to be on the floor

When Mitch gets back healthy, all should be good. An additional rotation player. anchor of the defense.
