Labour are ignoring over half their voters and their constituencies who voted in good faith to leave the EU. Why would people vote for Labour if they don't care about 17.4 million voters. Give your vote to someone who respects it.
@ImranAli-tm3rq5 жыл бұрын
They will get a good leave deal then put it to the people. If we leave on a no deal we will be a small nation who will be exploited by Trump, as trying to get deals from other nations will be a lengthy process..

Cody Garland I’m curious ?? Exactly why would the EU give a labour government a good deal ?? Neither the EU or the Labour Party want to leave So trying to convince the electorate a good deal can be negotiated by labour is ridiculous ,, you judge the voting public by your own poor standards,,, we are not as stupid as labour think , but labour a complete bunch of mongs for even trying to push this bollox,

Yes Owen. Spinning a fantasy of lots of free stuff yet no one other than "rich people" paying more tax is always popular. In the real world, though, it would be like Sweden - where "rich people" taxes are about the same as ours, but the taxes on everyone else are MUCH higher (like, 25% VAT, and income tax that starts at 30% on earnings of around £1300 *per year* ). That's because "rich people" are already heavily taxed and are highly mobile. The top 1% pay around 25% of all income tax. If a handful of the leave you are left with a massive shortfall. So the only answer is to broaden the tax base. The Labour Party was spinning a deceptive fantasy and a lot of people liked the sound of it but didn;t believe it. Rightly so. If you want Scandinavian state spending, you get Scandinavian taxes to go with it. Id the Swedes could get it all from their equivalent of Richard Branson, they would do it They don't. And can't. Public suport for higher taxes always, always amounts to "higher taxes on someone with just a bit more money than me". The recent support for a wealth tax made this obvious: it was backed by it only applying to assets over £750,000 and exclusing main homes and pensions. In other words, peopel supported it, so long as they were sure they had excluded themselves from it.

And-for those like Jones who weren't about in the 70;s-hence their ignorant fantasies-BASIC rate tax was 33% and the "services" were bureaucratic Kafka nightmares (not to mention the endless cases of abuse from the wonderful children's services of that era) AND-for idiots like Jones-when we had a socialist Labour government and they did socialist things like huge investment in the railways WHAT was the Unions response ? "If they think they can buy us off like that they've got another think coming" and off they went on strike!! As Gregor von Rezzori said, the only way a socialist government has the slightest chance of working is if everyone from the great leader down to the lowest plebe is a Saint, YES we'd like more equality/fairer society, but idiots like Jones wheeling out clapped out failed dogmas (he is incapable of any original political ideas) we're stuck.
