Can "Lower Entities" Or "Evil Energies" Trouble Young Meditators?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the deeper meaning of Eastern belief is really that all of these entities are personifications of virtues or vices within ourselves. They are not to be taken literally, but to realize that we must embody God in our actions - God/Goddess is real through us - We are emanations of God/Goddess/Universe. The “lower entities” are negative aspects or vices within ourselves that we must conquer. The symbolism is all throughout Hindu Scripture
