i dont think at our big age we need friends from the opposite gender, i had a couple guy friends in school that i cut off in my early 20s. Because how will they benefit my life? when I eventually do get married i would cut them off out of respect for my partner so whats the point entertaining a pointless friendship? Thats just my opinion, i could just be really antisocial :)

I think it definitely depends on how we frame friendship and whom we deem a friend, and how the interaction between the two people pans out.. I benefit so much from my male friendships (a couple of whom are my parents friends who I speak to/spend time with because I choose to, rather than only with my parents if ygm).. I think it’s a shame that we live in an over sexualised society that leads us to dichotomise male/female interactions in such a way.. a man’s experience of life tends to be different to a woman’s and vice versa. The insight, outlook and wisdom of either gender can be so refreshing and help us learn so much about the world. Of course humans can catch feelings (feelings are never wrong - it’s how we choose to act on those feelings). And that’s where boundaries are absolutely key in any sort of friendship, same sex or otherwise. This deffo would’ve been an interesting podcast to have a female on. Regardless, always a prevalent discussion point.

Would you guys be ok ,if your Mrs went to her male friend whenever you guys had conflict....and like she shared everything with him ..don't you guys think at some point she will get feelings for him or vice versa.... I honestly don't think guys and girls can be friends because there will always be some sort of energy between the opposite gender and plus when you talk about boundaries.. what about Islamic boundary ..not being haram police lol but if they're really close friends what about hugs and touches.... etc
